I support keeping Matt Moore as our starter, sign a free agent back up and focus on the draft.

I am still shocked we traded Marshall and very disappointed.

Ireland needs to go though, especially next season,

We may as well just start Devlin, and hope we get Barkley next year.
 
I agree. Let's give Matt a go this year.

I can't see Tebow fitting into Philbin's plans.

And while I like Smith, we cannot afford to pay (the rumored) $8 million a year.

Let's hope we can pull something off in the draft.
 
No to Tim Tebow.

I would be happy if we sign Smith. Let Smith and Moore battle it out for the starters position. Both are pretty good QB's in the WCO system. We will have a good starter and a good back up.

Going forward, we will need to draft Barkley or Landry Jones next year. We should be planning ahead for that eventuality and do not trade up or mortagge our draft picks. The number of teams seeking a QB should be minimal considering what happened this year.

Moore has one year left on his contract. After the season is over, we can cut Moore loose if he doesn't beat out Smith. Smith or Moore and Barkley or Jones in 2013.

This is the most sensible thing to do at this point.
 
I want Matt to start I want Tebow also but only if he will play backup and maybe change to a kordell stwewart type role thats IF Tebow is that much of athlete
 
We almost have no choice but to go with Matt Moore as our starter now. No matter what some peoples opinions are about it I still don't think there's any way Alex Smith comes to Miami when SF want him back. Miami can't offer any more money than SF can and seriously... which team has a better roster.
 
Let's see who can earn the spot during the preseason. Let's wait and see.
 
Get out your checkbook cause Moore is not making a starters salary. Smith is not coming. Moore has not proven he can win in the clutch against any good team. Tebow can by the way.
 
fire Ireland' start Moore, shore up the right side of the o-line this year, keep our draft pics and go for the qb next year it may be worth the wait, and also see what philbin can do this year
 
i agree. matt isnt a franchise qb but he is the best option right now. and he played well down the stretch. hopefully he comes in with a chip on his shoulder
 
I think moore is going to have to start this year and have to play better than last year to get us to the same records as last year.
 
Are people forgetting the possibility of Weeden being drafted and being a legitimate competitor out of the gates? He's not the project Tannehill is.

I'm not sure what I want the team to do in the first few rounds right now but if Weeden comes to town I wouldn't be against it. What hinders that plan is that I want a top WR in this draft and if we get a QB in round 1/2 that won't happen.
 
Alex Smith at 8M a year would have been so damn terrible that there are no words. I far prefer Moore. Ireland can't do any better and when he tries he just makes things worse.

Essentially that is what they've done and I agree.

I don't understand the need to get rid of Ireland. He's the one that brought in Moore instead of Orton, and who has not overpaid for a QB this offseason. Getting Garrard as an experienced and former pro-bowl backup was a great move. Drafting Weeden to automatically come in and compete for the starting spot will be the next and last piece of the QB puzzle. Can anyone honestly say that Moore, Garrard and Weeden will not be the best trio of QB's on the roster since Danny boy left?
