Matt Moore isnt a franchise quarterback. Hes capable, he can play well in a pinch, he can win you some games, but hes on the level of Shaun Hill, Kyle Orton, and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Good enough to create competition, bad enough that they cant carry your franchise. If the Jets and Bills want to sink a mid-round pick and hold up their team for another year on a guy who isnt a franchise quarterback, i'll applaud them for their efforts.
No doubt we'd miss his loss. If Tannehill gets injured we'd be totally screwed without Moore. But id value the extra draft pick a lot more then a player who hopefully would never take the field. We can find another competent backup somewhere much easier then we can gain those extra draft picks. When you have a franchise quarterback, you can trade away excessive pieces for extra resources.
