Moore threw and completed one pass last year as Tannehill's backup. We paid him $2.6M on a one year deal, which is not a lot for a good vet QB. From what I have read, Tannehill got along well with him and said he did help him.

This year, with a new coach and scheme, could he be a bigger help for around the same money? I would think he would and don't see a better option.

could well be Logan Thomas or some dirt cheap backup. Team is going nowhere next year, especially if Tannehill goes down. So why waste money on a 2nd qb when out cap is already ****ed?

Let him walk. Maybe he can find success somewhere.

Can I tell you how excited I'll be when Matt Moore is gone, not because I think he is a bad guy or I dislike him, I'm just tired of listening to the "Start Matt Moore" bull****.

I don't like him in Tannehill's ear. He is not the the sharpest tool in the shed. Guy has had every chance to advance his career yet chooses to remain a backup in Miami, time to move on.

I don't know, money wise if we really need that 2.6 mil (or whatevs) maybe, but honestly we're already one of the youngest teams in the nfl, we're about to get younger, and there is no way I want to destroy whatever leadership actually exists in that locker room.

Does it matter, really? How many wins do you expect next year? Maybe 4-6? Should just clean house behind RT. Get 2 young guys and keep the better of the 2 on active roster and 1 on PS.

Those are some good stats.... But also a reason Ive never bought into the whole philbin hated tannehill rumours. There have been plenty of times most teams would have thrown in their back up Qb but Miami clearly doesn't believe that a Qb should be pulled. IMO cut Moore to make cap space and draft a Qb.

not his fault he doesn't play. Just means the starter doesn't come out. But an injury can happen at any time and you want a veteran QB that has proven they can win games - which Moore has done in his career. It's not a lot to pay him for that insurance. Imagine if Don Shula hadn't convinced Joe Robbie to sign Earl Morrall to a huge contract for a backup in those days? We had Griese and we hardly threw - chance of injury was low. Yet without Morrall we don't go undefeated or win a SB in '72.

I doubt that Matt Moore will stay, from my gm sources at Finheaven team are salivating over him to sign in free agency and even Denver is hoping that Manning retires so that Matt Moore can lead them to the promised land.
Word in Atlanta is that Matt Ryan is nervous that they may sign Moore thus relegating him to a backup role.

hahhahaa. I like Moore but this did make me laugh. I just like the idea of having a veteran backup that can win a game if needed. Like the last time he really played, he came in for Tanny against the jets in Q1 and played a nice game to lead us to a win. I just don't think a Logan Thomas can do that. That said, if Moore goes I'm not losing any sleep either.

Eh. He can hit the bricks. time to bring in youth as a back up. be it Logan Thomas or someone else. A couple million saved.

you're a good pro matt, but your cap hit is a little too much for my taste.

He sucks and is grossly overpaid for his talent level. Let him walk.

I dont think we should pay Moore the kind of money he makes. He is nothing special and he isnt Earl Morral or Don Strock no matter how people try to make him out to be
