Comon Mannnn
Not saying McCoy can’t become a good NFL head coach but honestly think about it. Matt Prater misses a kick or two. The Broncos don’t have that miracle of a comeback against us and recover and onside kick. Marion Barber stays inbounds and the Bears seal the game. The Broncos record would sit at 6-10 or 5-11 honestly. Winning a couple of the games I watched had nothing to do with play calling or making great adjustments for Tebow.
I compare this situation to when we won the division with Sparano. We won a lot of close games with his philosophy of football and didn’t turn the ball over. We all know how that turned out the next seasons with that philosophy. The point is we won a lot of games Sparano’s first year that were close and could have gone either way and mostly they were against poor competition. That could be said for the Broncos this year as well.
Again, I am not implying that McCoy can’t become a good head coach. However, the Broncos won a couple of games based off luck and Matt Prater and IMO nothing to do with playing calling. Do you think we would be interviewing McCoy if the Broncos finished 6-10 or 5-11?
Out of the 3 candidates I would take Philbin. The only reason is he knows what a winning offense in the NFL looks like. He has been around a high powered offense for years and I would think he would want to instill that philosophy to the Dolphins.
