Matt Roth on Saban

Wow, thank god he's gone. 3 times in 2 years?!??!?! Communication is important isn't it when you're talking about player to coach? Wow, just wow.

Did he actually show up for meetings or did they just have a cardboard cutout of him in the room so his presense was felt?

I'm not surprised that Roth or any player would say that about a coach who is also the GM. That's probably why we had the largest coaching staff in the NFL.

Well, in fairness, if you've ever been a manager of averything, you
know that being "freinds" with employees is a very, very slippery
slope.

Communications is different than being "freinds", however,
so I'll have to take ROths word for that.

He had a DC to get said what needed to get said.

Maybe that's just me though. I don't like being around
my boss on whatever job I'm doing. Just let me go and,
let me know if I'm screwing up. If you don't always hang out
around me, I assume I am getting my job done.

Really though, you'd like to think a guy you spent a second round pick on and your head coach would be a bit more chatty than three times in two years. That's an average of once every eight months. I have ex's I speak to more.

Im shocked Roth was so PG-13. I honestly expected Roth to torch the guy.

The rest of that interview was very cool.

I think that his take on Saban's 'reason' was probably closer to the truth...

it makes u wonder why roth wasnt used much this year ? he has some potential but why was carter still playing in late december when this team was out of it ...

You know, Kirk Ferentz has had his name kicked around for several years as a potential Pro Coach. He's supposed to be some sort of Offensive Line guru, I think that sounds like a pretty good fit for us.
