It had to be a strange experience for Roth, who has lost his starting strong-side linebacker post to the oldest player on the team. (Taylor, at 35, is three months older than nose tackle Jason Ferguson.)

Roth, coming off groin surgery, also has yet to practice since the middle of June.

"I want to get out there with my teammates," Roth said. "They know me. They know I'm a hard worker and a tough guy. As soon as I can get out there to help them, I will."

I read in the Buzz that he is frustrated and surprised the injury has not healed, and hopes he can play this year. Looks like PUP.

He is a country boy he learns the hard way. If He would have stayed at home nursing that groin since the end of the season by now he would had been ok by now. But he kept poking at it in OTAs and by running around before camp and while in Training Camp so now he probably wont be okay to play till mid season you have to be smart I know he is a hard worker but running around and streching wont fix a groin only rest does.

This is still a very weird situation. Matt Roth says he's frustrated and that he can't get out there until they tell him he can get out there, meanwhile there's all this word from inside the building that Roth is the one that keeps telling them he can't go.

I'm fine with putting him on PUP.

In a perfect FINS world, he will be ready just in time in case JT gets worn out or injured.

i didn't know that the perfect Fins world contains Taylor getting worn out or injured. actually, that's as far from perfect as it gets

I think being on the PUP is a good thing for Roth. The injury obviously needs rest. They're very nagging and lingering injuries. I wouldn't be surprised that Taylor was signed by the team knowing full well of Roths injury.. Wouldn't be surprised one bit.

I have not seen or heard anything from our BIG THREE. What did they have to say?

Good point. I had not thought of that. I believed they would split playing time.

Yeah, they signed a ROLB to play SOLB....

Yeah, and we also signed a DE to play the weak side in Wake, and a safety (with the same skills as Bell) to play the other side. :)
