All he rooks are getting a chance to play Daniels Brown Crowder etc but y isnt MR Roth haveing any playing time even on 3rd downs? CAn Roth be a bust i hoipe not i have a lot of hope for this kid but i did see him on 1 play but that was it?
 
The D-line is looking great with the veterans. That will give Roth some time to learn and beef up. Don't start talking bust yet, he's in a great position to learn from quality players and will end up being a beast in for the Dolphins.
 
Ive seen roth getting some playing time this season and he has held is own. If anything its an advantage that we have so many veterans in front of him to show him the ropes. I think he will be a decent player.
 
Roth almost had a sack yesterday - on the play where Tebucky sacked, but face masked Delhomme. If Tebucky didn't get him, Roth would have. BUT, that play should have NEVER happened. The time on the game clock expired before the play got off. Another crap call by the officials.

Because he is playing behind JT, and Carter. Those two are going to recieve the most playing time.
 
I've seen him out there plenty of times. Especially for a rookie on a team with linemen like ours.
 
a bust after 3 games and doesnt play that much b/c of the players ahead of him...smh..come on man..its 3 games!! relax
 
I thought some of the posts on here after a loss were bad...

Roth is in the rotation and plays some. We actually have all 4 of our top 4 picks playing which I don't remember ever happening before...

I thought Vickerson was starting to show some real potential. It's a shame he got injured. He is HUGE...

The madness continues......

Roth is receiving playing time and during critical situations.
Can you think of a more critical situation than goal line defense? Roth has been a fixture in that package and has done extremely well. If Roth was a bust do you think Saban would be putting him in right when a team is a sniff away from scoring a TD on us?????

The fact that he has shown he deserves playing time in such critical situations is a very good sign that Roth will end up a good DE.
 
If your ever looking for Roth in the game ... just check the short yardage/Goal line situation ... he is always in on those.
 
he had a big offsides penalty in the Jets game....he's playing but not making impact plays yet. Give him time.

It shows Saban has faith in him. Given time I think he will be good for us. The other thing about the draft is that you are going to make some mistakes. I am not saying Saban has, and in fact I like all our draft pick but I think its somthing to remember. One of the things NE does to guard against this is stockpilling late draft picks. You know you will miss on some but the more picks you have the better chance of finding some late round gems.
 
hes a rookie defensive end playing on a team with 2 hall of fame calibre defensive ends in front of him... do you expect matt roth to play over JT or Carter? of course not, hes getting his sparing playing time and doing fine...
