Matt Turk was a good punter but looks like after his injury were not gonna keep him on the roster. Shame... But Donnie Jones did excellent so maybe we've found a punter
Turk nears end: At least for now, injured punter Matt Turk remains a part of the Dolphins' organization. It's just a matter of how long.
Had Turk reached an injury settlement by Wednesday's deadline, it would have remained possible that he could have returned to action after six weeks.
But now, even though he still technically can reach a settlement, it would mean he would be sidelined for an additional six weeks  causing him to remain out until the season's 13th week.
Since Turk's groin injury wasn't very serious to begin with, it has become clear the Dolphins have decided to go in a different direction. He likely will be waived.
If  or more likely when  that happens, Turk could potentially file a grievance against the team if he feels his injury was worsened by practicing after he incurred the injury.
In the meantime, Donnie Jones, a rookie who punted for coach Nick Saban at LSU, has taken over the role as the starting punter. He averaged 47.3 yards per punt Sunday against the Broncos.
