I ran across this news which made me wonder if Mauck is headed to Miami.

Mauck may be moving

The agent for Matt Mauck, released Saturday, said the quarterback was considering some offers. He could sign elsewhere or go on the Broncos' practice squad for a second season.

"Being released was a disappointing event for Matt," agent Mark Rodgers said. "But there is a strong level of interest out there, and Matt will sleep on it before making a decision."

Yes, and i can't wait for that. So hopefully these QB battles will come to a end.
 
His history with Saban makes him a "candidate" for our team, just like every other LSU or MSU player that becomes available...
 
I doubt it. We've got no interest in Davey, who was a better QB for Saban. Saban himself has said that the quarterback during his National Championship run(Mauck) wasnt very good. Publically.

I said "candidate" kinda tongue-in-cheek...people will see a player get released and if he played under Saban at LSU or MSU, will assume that Saban wants the guy !
 
Is this kid any good? He was like the 13th best QB in 04, I dont know if thats saying anything or not. I personally think we should make a trade for Cody Pickett of SF or Cleo Lemon of SD two "diamonds in the rough" IMO

That's not necessarily true. If we got Leinart, he'd be ready to play his first year. Roethlisberger proved you can be the 3rd QB taken and still be a solid QB in your rookie year. I was hoping Feeley would come around this year, but after being demoted to 3rd string, I guess I'm getting on the draft a QB in 06 bandwagon.

Exactly! I think McCown, Simms or Rattay might be better choices (Free Agents NEXT year)if we want to begin winning sooner than later. They all have starting experience and could at the very least be a better stop gap than Frerotte/Rosenfels.
 
Dont do it. As much as it would suck as Dolphin fans to go through another few win season it might be the best thing that can happen to you. Leinart.
