Reagan Mauia has finally arrived.

No it wasn't when he emerged as a fan-favorite fullback at the University of Hawaii.

Nor when he was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of April's NFL draft, inking a four-year contract with the team.

It wasn't even when he gained recognition for a YouTube video in which he runs helmetless through a wall before looking at the camera and proudly proclaiming "I'm the Juggernaut b----."

No, Mauia didn't become a prominent sports figure nationally until this week, when Sports Illustrated featured the former Tokay High football standout as its "Fresh Face" of the week.

And what a fresh face it is, the tongue-and-cheek SI profile including a photo of Mauia's cut-out head, his eyes playfully wide and his tongue hanging from his mouth.

The player feature, titled "Miami's Reagan Era: A rookie with South Seas roots is already making an impact," breaks down how Mauia got the name Reagan, how he ended up at the University of Hawaii and where people might know him from: The YouTube video.

Now I have to go out and buy this weeks SI. :up:

Between Reagan Mauia and guys like Joey Porter and Channing Crowder, we're going to have plenty of "characters" on our team. I'm sure they'll have something interesting to say in their interviews this year. I like it. I think every team needs to have a few of those fired up showbiz guys like Chad Johnson is with the Bengals. Who knows, maybe Reagan will do a cool looking Hawaii war dance for us if he runs in a touchdown this year. :D
