No team picked up Clarett off of waivers today, so that means that Clarett will likely not be on a team this year. I was watching NFL Total Access today, and they said that he will likely be put on a PS team this year. They even said that he could play in CFL this year and try the NFL next year. This dude is a true bust and he isn't having a bright future anywhere.

He is not a CFL type back.

CFL runners are either scat back types (John Avery) who have good hands, play special teams (almost every CFL player has to play special teams because of limited roster size) and good speed.

Big backs in the CFL are usually fullbacks. There are a few exceptions (Robert Edwards...yes, that Robert Edwards is having a very good year in Canada) but those exceptions are usually good recievers out of the backfield.

Clarett is exactly what I thought he would be.

An ego driven player who drastically over estimates his own abilites and value. I said in every predraft thread when his name came up I would'nt have picked him up as an undrafted free agent...

I can't believe Mike Shanahan keeps his job this year if the Broncos miss the playoffs.

Why did the Broncos cut him? Why not just put him on I/R until next season?

Because he will never be a pro caliber Rb. Shanahan basically just admitted that he picked a terrible football player and just decided to not pretend that the pick was salvagable and moved on. The guy was dogging injuries and complaining that he wasnt on the first team..
There was a ton of speculation about this guy before the draft, I said it before and I'll say it again, this guy doesnt even warrant a roster spot, he's worthless. He wouldnt be firststring in the NFL Europe.

Plus Shanahan (wow, it seriously just took me a good 6 minutes to spell that right after being up partying all night, hahaha) said that he has a TERRIBLE practice ethic and his idea of practicing hard is all wrong. I think the raw talet is there SOMEWHERE, look at his Ohio State season. I KNOW you can't judge a player by one season, but to have THAT great a year you know that deep down somewhere there is SOME talent, I just think his work ethic and ego will never let that shine through, and never let him get the opportunity to bring it out and hone his skills, and I think he is so egotistical that even if someone offers him advice and coaching that would improve his game and bring that talent forth and sharpen it, I don't think he'll listen because of the type of guy he is, think he knows it all and should be the starter even when he proved nothing.

I don't know after his poor combine showing and his terrible stint with the Broncos its debatable as to whether or not the guy even has the talent to be an NFL caliber back. He had that great season in college, but thats lightyears from the NFL. Look at a guy like Tommy Chang, he was a downright stud in college but he wont even make 3rd string in the pros.

I am actually glad this happend. First of all I dislike the Broncos. But mostly I think Clarett got what he deserved. Time and time again he let everyone down but then come draft day he was rewarded by being picked third round. So then he lets his own team down on purpose. I am glad no one tried for him.

4.8 40 time
nothing above the neck
gives up when it matters most

I dont care if this guy was a football player (as so many analysts like to say). He is a quitter, with way below average skills and no work ethic.

Today, Clarett should be put on a team's PS. It will be interesting to see who wants him.

maybe clarett can as Mr. Mcmachon to bring back the XFL, he might have a future their

update;

denver papers - clarett better than brown/williams

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i live in donkey country and i just thought it was funny that they would have such an article, couldnt find it on tha net, but its on paper at home, and basically it says clarett was a better value pick than brown or williams and they he will not only have more yards, but will start more games and play longer than either player
:goof:

found this about that.

Tell me you don't think Lydell Ross was as good as Clarrett, please.

Right on brother. I personally think Clarett is the steal of the 2nd day and apparently so does miami. For all you clarett haters stick to your day jobs and let the real talent evaluators do there job.
