John Clayton was just on ESPN and was asked about some of the QB's.

Brees- would likely not be tagged with franchise or tansitional tags. Has been offered deal but will not accept it and will become a FA.

Pennington- could get released after turning down contract renegotiation.

Culpepper- if they can not trade him, Clayton suggested they would release him. Interested teams were the ones we've already heard (Miami, Baltimore, etc)

They really don't need to. Better to let Brees walk and start Rivers then pay Brees a lot just to have Rivers on the bench continuing to collect a large check also.

A little more Clayton QB news... On SC, there was a segment called Cut or Keep. They named QB's and Clayton gave his opinion whether they would be cut of kept.

Cut: Griese, CPepp, Pennington, Brooks, Ramsey

Kept: Favre, Collins, Harrington, Frerotte

He also said Brooks may end up in GB if Favre retires
