Maybe Dan Marino should help choose the next Miami QB. He preferred Huard over Fiedler, and was high on Rivers (During his brief run as Dolphin management).
 
lmao, he also said harrington should be the starter even if daunte was healthy. i do think he would be a good QB scout. which is what he was doing during that 2003 draft. sucks he left.
 
I'd rather Dan (and some Miami investors) buy the team from Wayne H.....and then start to clean house. This team has shown nothing the last five years. I think the primary problem we have had has been very questionable player/coaching and other personnel decision making. How you can hire an OC like Mularkey to replace Linehan mystifies me. Did Mularkey and Capers receive job offers simply because they were out of work and needed a job, or did Saban really think these were the two best guys for the job?

WHY hasn't Miami tried to draft a decent QB who could be groomed to lead this team? Instead, we bring in has-beens that have been cast off from other teams (Lucas, Fielder, Feeley, Frerotte, Culpepper, Joey, etc.).

I think it is going to be the same old same old for years to come. :shakeno:
 
He was right on Huard and Rivers!! Rivers is a system Qb though!! But If Dan buys the team Expect the vets to jet!! Dan wants to build his own team!! I doubt he buys the team
 
Dan Marino's physical talent in no way, shape, or form qualifies him to make any personnel decisions.
 
i think Dan left after being hired because all his input was disregarded, and he didn't want to be a figurehead.

I don't necessarily need him in a visible front office position, but his input in scouting QBs would be greatly appreciated.... and if he did a joint-venture to acquire the fins from Huizenga (if the sale allegations are true), then i'd like that as well.... you know that no one would be more excited about bringing a SB to miami than Marino.
 
I wasn't very high on Huard ... but Rivers -- you bet .... watched him play many games for NC-State ..

Harrington, nuff said .... albeit, most folks including myself stated that he was the better choice at the time because of his mobility and ability to at least 'move' the offense in the 1st couple games compared to what Culpepper was doing ... there are few folks that actually thought or stated that Joey was the QB of the future ..... just at that point in time, he was the better choice -- just like its a better choice to start Cleo now .... not meaning that he is a better QB, but the timing is right for it ...

I don't think you can credit him with Rivers.... everyone and their grandma here wanted Rivers.

were any of you guys around right before that draft? every single person on Finheaven wanted Rivers, and some of our draft gurus (boomer, i think and maybe ck) had mentioned his name well before the prior season had ended.

now Huard, you can give him credit for, but that might just be due to loyalty since he was his backup.
 
dan and his crony buddies like boomer, shannon, etc. should get a group of investors and buy the team from wayne, then dan should be owner/gm, get some field turf at dolphin stadium, eliminate those ugly orange alternate uniforms, go back to the throwback dolphins uniforms, and make the aqua jerseys more darker, and eliminate the aqua pants, also go to the hightop black shoes.

There were many worried about his relaeas & mechanics.
 
Get in shape Dan. You got all off season to get yourself ready. Open tryouts for the Dolphins. UNRETIRE THAT NUMBER!!
