The Shula years were known for a lack of penalties. Anyone else think Shula's advice could be helpful to Saban in this department?

Then again, some players do penalties as a result of their lack of talent. Maybe it can't get fixed much with the guys we have.

Come on Nick...give Don a call, and see what he thinks could be done to improve the situation.

Whether or not Saban would ever concede to doing so, I'm quite certain Shula would have some wise suggestions.

It's issues such as these though, where he should bite the bullet and SEEK Shula's advise.

Strangly enough, as penalties have been called, its been the one time that Saban has had a strange look of cluelessness.

I have a feeling that Saban is gonna do things alot different in practice to prepare the players for the next game. I am sure that he will be calling for some tips to help him out.

The fact of the matter is that Shula coached completely different players, more disciplined players, in a different era in the league. I dont think anything that Shula tells Saban will help THAT much. The players need to do a better job individually of reducing the penalties. Saban isnt going to coach less agrressively because of a few bonehead players.

Yeah, Shula would say join the rules commitee!

For once and for all, Shula was on the competition committee. Not the "rules committee".
There were other coaches on the same committee whose teams didn't perform like the Dolphins
It was Shula's coaching and discipline that made even average players perform to their capacity.
Let's please dispense with these asinine explanations for Shula's successes and give the man due credit.

Your a little uptight! Relax and have some fun, geeeezzzz!

Lets not bring back the ole' The great dolphins of all time are all of a sudden going to walking and make the players probowlers!

These players have been playing their whole lives. defensivley they should be looking at the ball... not listening to the QB.. they've been taught that their whole lives.. THEY KNOW.

Didnt Shula sometimes have officials come in to referee practice?? Im almost positive I remember that. Its something we should damn sure be doing.
