Hickey - Excellent job finding talent and purging Ireland's leftovers.
Lazor - Tannehill's making great strides.
Coyle - Too much zone, DB's playing off the ball when it matters, and the team can never stop the run.

Philbin - I think his teams are prepared. He is NOT the problem with this team. What more could he do with all of the injuries sustained today and they fought and only lost by 3? Yeah, I'm upset they lost, but proud that they fought until the end.

Coyle's defense was unprepared and has been most responsible for 3 losses that were wins.

Flame away...

But, but, statistically their elite. The D is consistent, always fold when it matters most and absolutely nobody can step up and make a game-changing play when the game is on the line.

the run defense was esp puzzling today but come on it was AT Denver with Peyton Manning.

Sucks we lost so close since we were winning most of the game but I tip my hat to Peyton and the Broncos at Denver. Not many teams can win there

The defense sucked today but Coyle is not the problem. The problem was we got no pass rush from Wake, Vernon, or Odrick, and we missed tackles like a mother****er.

I don't see Philbin contributing a damn thing to this team. The #1 and #2 D's got shredded by the league's 2 best offenses today. I'm not entirely sure whether to read that as some statement as to where the league's at right now but it is what it is. I'm pissed off at Coyle and the D right now, but maybe we're being overly harsh. Still, I'd be more than happy to dump Philbin and Coyle while holding on to Lazor and Hickey.

Philbin should of ordered Coyle to change the game plan. It was beyond stupid to play zone and off the ball against Manning of all people. If your going to go down, at least go down SWINGING!

Put Coyle in, pretty sure he can tackle better than some of those guys we had out there today.

LOL this is so funny... Seems like I just got done reading a thread earlier today saying that Coyle was the most underrated DC in the league... Now he needs to be fired... I agree that zone defense at the end of the second half was horrible, and the defense itself was completely flat, but these knee jerk reactions are just so ridiculous

Why would Coyle not send some pressure??????????????????????? I dont understand it....send the Fng house and take your chances for ****s sake

What that tells me is that they are being put in the wrong positions when it matters most. We have the talent to make most DC's look good. We need someone else making the defensive play calls

If the Rams were able to pressure Manning then the Dolphins should've also been able too. Do people realize that Manning threw for 389 yards against the Rams? The key was that their pressure induced a couple of sacks and two interceptions. That's how you defeat great QB's. It's not about "bend but don't break", but by applying pressure, realizing that you will give up big gains but also generate a few key sacks and turnovers as well that interrupt the offense's momentum.

Look at the Arizona Cardinals defense. They are near the bottom of the league in terms of passing yardage allowed. But their aggressive blitzing causes turnovers that translate into wins and the ability to retain 4th quarter leads. That has been the Patriots defensive philosophy as well. They are usually in the lower half in terms of yardage allowed, but among the leading teams in terms of points allowed because their defensive schemes generate turnovers.

I think it is sad that Philbin gets universally panned for his timeout calls yet Coyle gets a free pass for not putting his players in positions to succeed both in general and subsequent to those timeouts. And this is the 3rd such game in which his schemes have turned wins into losses and yet he refuses to make adjustments.
