Maybe we Feely good after all

I've said it once and I will say it again.

No to Feeley!

Yeah He connected on 82% of his FG or something like that.
His long was also a 47 yarder. He never really had to attempt long FG like Mare did. I would much rather Mare restructure. Also if he wants 5 years and 10 million with 3 million guaranteed isn't that going to be pretty much the same cap hit as what Mare is. Mare is set for 1.5 million with a 250,000 roster bonus. I could be wrong on that, but that is the way i see it. Keep mare, if nothing else he can kick the ball out of the end zone.

great point mare is a heak of an touchback kicker

it's not really big, and it doesn't say anything for sure, but I think this has to be good news for the franchise if they are serious about wanting to replace Mare (which is a great idea IMO).

i understand about the touchbacks, but you can't hang your hat on that when your "real" job is to get your team 3 points, and very often win the game for your squad. Something Mare failed to do at least a couple of times this last year

So did Feeley but not from 50+ yards 5-6 times like mare.

Mare's percentage would have been much higher had we not trotted him out there from long range so often.

exactly and mare's clutch get him to restructure, kickers can play till there 45 hes not to old people!

u also got to remebr feely has been kicking in the medowlands livin in jersey ive gone quite a few times and the wind is crazy in there and it swirls not as easy as kickin in south florida and at this point i think everyone is better at kickin Fgs then olindo but id still rather have medlock

yes a couple of the misses were 50 yarders, but when I run my kicker out there against the hated jets with 32 seconds left and our team down by three, I expect my freaking kicker to net a 51 yard field goal. Am I wrong to expect that?

I think he had 4 or 5 games where he didn't miss a kick, mare I mean, and I have heard people talk about the meadowland winds, so 84% is fine by me and I don't know what else to say, but bring on the Feely.

Mare only hurt us once last year by not tying up the Jet game in Oct. He actually won two games for us (TEN, KC) and that was earlier in the season when he and the team played horribly. As the season progressed, he slowly got over what was ailing him and was nearly perfect by December going 9 for 10. His only miss then was a 50+ yarder in a game (JAX) where we got owned anyway. I am in the minority here as I would like to see him back. He again lead the league in touchbacks. Those who think that TB's don't matter, obviously have no idea what consistantly pinning back an opposing offense does for our defense. It wins games.
