Maybe we should all chill?: Great Article on players thoughts on state of team

A lot of the fans on this site have never been to a training camp practice or an actual game and try to talk the gospel.
The media is always trying to stir up a story. I think JT is right.
He has been on some good teams and we should just stop bashing and let the season unfold with some good expectations.
Our defense will be great and our offense will be much improved under DaBol and Henne. The negativity just breeds more negativity IMHO.

I'm glad the players spoke up too. How much of the "drama" is being fueled by journalists like Omar, who seem to enjoy creating a controversy, maybe to boost their readership or transform himself into a sports media celebrity, like Stephen A Smith.
Omar is just a journalist. He has a huge opinion of his football knowledge, which makes him sound like he has superior knowledge than all of the paid professionals, but at the end of the day, I think that he's just trying to whip up controversy.

ROALMAO! I would be nice to at least see Henne get pissed off once in a while rather than just stand there like he's waiting for a bus.

Did you watch the preseason game? Did you not see Henne pointing his finger and yelling at either Murtha or Ingonito for something... a false start maybe?. I don't recall exactly which. I'm at work so I can't pull it up... Not sure how everyone didn't see it.

Bottom line... it's a QB driven league... and ours is not a playoff caliber QB.... while I agree the media and fans don't know about specific "plays" or responsibilities... and often times the player in the "picture" may not be the one who made the mistake... that holds less true for the QB position.... he's the trigger puller.... as he goes... so goes the W's... no matter who says what....

“It’s amazing how many times you’ll hear how somebody was out of position or Jason Taylor got slammed by Lydon Murtha in a scrimmage,” Taylor said. “No, he didn’t. I was supposed to go inside. I did my job. People can say things, but they have no idea what they’re talking about.”

I guess when Henne throws and INT, or overthrows Marshall, he was supposed to do that...and us fans are incapable of making any observations at all

Wait, so you mean fans on this forum aren't football gurus and don't work with the franchise as a full time job? Shocking.

It's the mere fact of fans trying to micromanage every single play and overreact to things happening in practice.

This is like a broken record. Every year you hear how the offense is going to change. How we finally have the pieces in place, but then the season starts and you see the players do not matter because the coaching staff's philosophy and blind faith in a starting QB that should be nothing more than a career back-up, have stayed the same. Believe me, I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong and see this team succeed. But the best indication of future success is past performance and the future does not bode well for the organization.

difference is we actually have a new scheme and a new person calling plays. everyone knew we would have a boring vanilla offense with henning. But now at least henne is taking snaps from shotgun

That would never happen here.

At some point people see what they want to see - last year the stoic robot ran the field on a bum knee to celebrate a TD - yet to some he is just cashing a paycheck

What I saw in the preseason game was a guy who was spades more agile with the oncoming rush - I bet he knows the playbook better than anyone but Daboll - see he doesn't have a contract after this next year and he wants to prove that Henning was about to really screw up his career

I almost have to wonder if Jason Taylor is making a reference to Channing Crowder in his ex players comment since Crowder was calling out defensive players talking about their tackling...hmmmm

JT's comments simply bring to light how little any of us know about professional football...even the 'experts' here at Finheaven.

Did you watch last week's preaseason game? How visibly irate he was at Murtha with the penalty in the 1st series (I believe)?
