I have been following the battle at the center position in the Eagles camp, between Fraley and Jackson. The Eagles are really thin at receiver and we have us a logjam at that position and face the prospect of having a lack of quality depth on the O-line with the recent spate of injuries. Fraley's salary is not huge and he is a proven starter about to lose his job. He still has the fire but spent the last eight months rehabbing and is supposedly all the way back health-wise. He is a smart journeyman from a small school and appears to be the kind of Uber-mensch Saban likes. This is a lunch pail type of guy with the right attitude. I could see giving up a prospect or two from the receiving corp to thicken us up a bit at center/guard. Your thoughts?:dolphins:

What would Philly do at backup center if they traded Fraley? I don't see another solid center on their roster at this point other than these two.

I'm also not sure if Fred Gibson or Cliff Russell have that much trade value currently. Let them do it in a few more games and perhaps their value goes up.

I don't think we would be willing to trade anybody who they would want, unless you think we should trade Booker. if they want Campbell for some reason than trade him now he won't be making our team anyway

capito

Fraley has kind of been agitating toward getting out of Philly. Not saying the Eagles would be willng, and indeed, I do not know who the number 3 guy is, just thought Fraley might be a nice fit for us.:boohoo:

A trade with Philly should be for a different position...

The Eagles are long on defensive backs and have some guys that would normally make the squad on the bubble. Ware, is a guy who can play either safety or corner, and is in a fight to make the roster. I would look at db and not at center. I predict Berger will make team at a center/guard type role.

I think Lee2000

has it right...if you dare make a trade with Philly...ask for Ware, Considine or even Rod Hood...I'd trade them one of our lower receivers...

excellent thought actually

I like that a lot. Berger is someone I have been rooting for as well. I am just a little concerned with depth because of the McKinney/Toledo injuries. I am hoping Toledo is back on the field quickly for his development's sake, because he has all the tools and has shown a lot of upside in camp.:dolphins:

Gee I hope Saban reads this . . .

Way too early in Tc to make any trade like this, our WR's haven't PROVEN anything yet, so no real trade value for them yet.

I like the idea of getting Fraley but the main problem I see is the Browns are so desperate at center that A) if they aren't interested in Fraley what does that tell you? and B) how do we expect to outbid them and why should we even try considering the likelihood that they are bidding at a premium due to desperation.

We should stick to our guns, scan the waiver wire. If someone is interested in one of our WRs for a conditional pick then that would be cool.
