Maybin Looking Rough So Far In OTAs

[Maybin] entered the league as a guy who is viewed as potentially strong contributor to the pass rush, but possible liability in the running game.

“Brutal” is the adjective that’s making the rounds. Per the team’s official web site, Maybin was sprinkled in with the first team on Wednesday. At one point on Tuesday, he got into a skirmish with tackle Chris Denman.

So at a time when quality performances are being attributed to the fact that everyone looks good when practicing in T-shirts and shorts, it remains to be seen whether Maybin will become an underwear all-star.

Doesnt clarify if he was struggling in one or both the pass rush and/or the run defense.

Maybin is extremely raw. He only had 10 career college starts and wasn't even in the starting lineup at Penn State until the third game last season. It will take him some time to adjust to the Pro game, as he really never had the chance to fully adjust to the college game.

He has the potential to be great, but he also has the chance to fizzle big time. He is a classic risk/reward type player who is raw with potential. Gholston was a player like that entering the 2008 draft and so far it looks more like he is a bust then a boom player.
