I find it hilarious that, before the season started, everyone was saying Miami was the least talented team, the worst team, then once they started losing...it must be because they're tanking. Can't have it both ways, either Miami is the least talented team in the NFL, or they are tanking.
There is no tank, and anyone that actually stopped long enough to see what is happening in front of them, instead of going with an uneducated but very popular theory would actually see this.
In order to actully tank a season, Miami would have to lose every game, or at least allow only 1 win if all the other teams had 2. That did not happen.
Everyone would have to be on board, the top would get rid of valuable players, the coaches would make mistakes to help team fail, the players would half ass the season, yet the actions of everyone in the Dolphins organization only shows a purge of old, expensive, or worthless talent, with some forced trades, coaches making moves to win, and players playing hard.
The significant players that actually hurt Miami win when they left, like Tunsil, Stills, Fitzpatrick, Alonzo, Tannehill were let go because either they were offered too much to refuse from other teams, or were asked by the player to be traded.
The coaching has continually made moves to win games, not to lose. If Flores had left Rosen in there, with how his faith in himself was declining with each INT, Miami probably is still winless, if the coaching staff did not continue to move around the o-line to get the best combination, Rosen and Fitzpatrick might both be in IR right now.
The players have yet to show they are even close to quiting, playing hard, actually making less mistakes then I have seen of them since Shula roamed the sidelines.
This team is depleted of talent, the last two win happened purely on sweat, guts, and a lot of heart, but they will eventually fall back to earth, because they are without real talent, not because they choose to throw away an entire season and their self respect as NFL professionals by losing on purpose.
