The Dolphins seemed very much more impressed with Matt McChesney who is my pick to push Ikechuku Ndukwe for the starting left guard spot. Although he was signed last Tuesday, McChesney made a quick impression on coaches.

Sparano says he is "excellent" at pulling and trapping. He also said McChesney moved first-team Miami players off the ball during practice last week. No wonder there was confidence in the guy when the Dolphins went for it on fourth down in the fourth quarter and with McChesney in for the injured Justin Smiley (shoulder) at left guard, they ran over the left side.

And they converted.

McChesney practiced at both left and right guard last week so I see him as the guy coaches look at this week as a challenger at RG.

Seems like we might have hit on another Gem. This is great news and could be the answer we were looking for to make a change at RG. On thing I noticed is that the guy is one huge scary lineman. He was linedup next to Jake and looked like a copy.

Well I dont know it seems they are really impressed with eveybody they sign at least for a few games and then they get cut ala Mathis.

How awesome is that, a player is just picked up and pretty much plays like he's been here a while. Considering Guard is a tough position to play and find players to fill it I am imnpressed.

Good news, I wasn't impressed with Allmen but am far from an O-line expert. Seemed like I noticed him in there whenever we were getting pressure from the right side. Hopefully Smiley is OK, didn'ty seem to be moving that arm after the game. Our Ol-inr stying healthy is imperative.

he's number 57 right? i thought it was a backup LB or something..
he's a massive man, used to be a DT for the jets

i hope smiley gets back to strength.. i loved seeing him on the sidelines bothering the coach, telling him put me in, ndukwe sat on the bench in the background.

hopefulylmcchesney is the answer at RG, he is very big, good to hear he's atheltic too

McChesney is #60, #57 is Allmen.

Weren't impressed by Allenmen?? That's the understatement of the century. He singlehandedly changed the game when he was in. I thought he was TERRIBLE

Alleman was horrible, but McChesney was impressive on the winning TD run Ronnie ran to his side. I also want to go out of the way here and say Cobbs can block, surprised he is not tried at FB and how about now that we have Cramer we run for over 100 again. Something we did not do when he was here.

Hope we see more of McChessney

Dolphins | Smiley questionable for Week 11
Mon, 10 Nov 2008 09:13:43 -0800 Omar Kelly, of the South Florida SunSentinel, reports Miami Dolphins OG Justin Smiley's (shoulder) status for Week 11 is questionable and will be determined by practice participation.

Hopefully he'll be healed enough to play, we're dreadful against the run without him.
