I'd love it if we could draft this kid, I mean honestly he was one of the few players I watched in complete awe this season. So elusive!

Ya, Mayock gave him a 2nd round grade after practice the other day. He basically cant be covered, and also is explosive in the run game. He's a Darren Sproles with maybe better receiving skills. I think the Phins have too many needs to take him in the 2nd, but some team is going to get quite the weapon.

He is a poor mans spiller. I would love to go D with one and get him in 2 or go Spiller in one and D in 2.

McCluster is much smaller then Johnson.....but I think McCluster is going to have a very nice career. He has breakaway speed like DeSean Jackson, and he would be a nice fit in our system.

I really want to like Dexter McCluster, but it's really hard when he run's all over your old High School lol.

Can midgets play in the NFL? -----------------Sorry, little people.

With all the rule changes moving towards passing offenses and speed, you will see NFL players get smaller and smaller.

The Colts are a prime example. They have a smallish but quick offensive line that is built for pass protection. And they have a small but very fast defense. Their defense is built to defend the pass to protect big leads their offense gets them.

Speed and passing is becoming the name of the game more and more.

If you are the Miami Dolphins I am thinking those big lugs at LB and safety Parcells seems to favor are becoming a thing of the past. Because you can expect even more rules to pass soon that favor the passing game even more, that's just the direction the NFL plans on going to. And it will not change.

You need guys with skill, speed, quickness and athletic ability at LB more and more.. And at the safety positions. Guys like Taylor Mays who lack lateral movement and lack change of direction skills are totally useless in today's NFL, and where the league is going to.. You need smaller quick-twitch guys who can really move well and change direction on a dime.

The NFL is becoming more and more about hips. The guys with swivel like hips, guys who have ball-bearings for hips, allowing them to change direction in an instant, will be the stars of the league. Great fluid-like hips will be more important than any other measurable or attribute a player can have. And it will be more the norm in the NFL as time goes on.

Players with bad hips need not apply.. See Vernon Gholston and Taylor Mays - 2 players with bad stiff hips who are useless in today's NFL.

The Steelers have small guys at Safety and LB who are smaller but extremely skilled and athletic, and have ball-bearings for hips. Just look at Lamarr Woodley and Troy Polamalu. They're small guys. And heck, James Harrison is not a big guy either. And they have been one of the top 3-4 defenses over the past few years. Size is overrated.

The Steelers OLB's Woodley and Harrison are only 6 foot tall and 6 foot one.. BUT THEY ARE FAST !!! Small but lightning quick, and have great technique who are "SMART" !.

Guy like Dexter McCluster, who are extremely quick, have great talent in the open field, and can catch the ball extremely well, will be the stars in the NFL rather than the big bruising plodding slow backs who lack talent.

That's just the direction the NFL is headed, whether you like it or not. The people in charge of the league love big plays and the passing game, and they want a lot more of it. The rules will favor it even more in the near future.. And to defend those rules, and defend those fast offensive teams defensively, you had better get some fast and quick players on the defensive side of the ball.

Or else you will be toast.. Like the Dolphins were toast defensively against the Colts this year even though the Colts offense had the ball for less than 15 minutes.

Parcells better get with the times because the NFL is changing.. I want to see smaller and fast linebackers, not the 6'5 and 270 pound linebackers he covets.. Because in just a few short years, those types of guys will be extinct. The Sean Weatherspoons, Earl Thomas' and the Daryl Washington's are the future of this league defensively. Smaller guys at LB and safety who can really move and get there fast.

Otherwise you'll be left in the dust. The NFL is becoming more and more of a "fast break" league. And Parcells and Ireland better get their act together and get with the times, to where the NFL is headed shortly.

Lets' all be real here the guy is only 165LBS..............

He'll be getting the ball in space ONLY because if a team gets him and trys to run him up the gut 25 times a game odds are VERY high he'll get hurt.

When did McCluster suddenly become a star in your opinion?

3 weeks ago he reminded you of John Avery and was just another back from Ole Miss that would have problems in the NFL..

I agree with everything you said except that Earl Thomas is going to switch to corner in the NFL.

And i think Parcells know's about this. Theres a reason he took Chris Clemons. He's a combination of what Parcells covets and needs to transition to. Hes 6'1 and 210 pounds and runs a 4.33

Big, Fast, and Physical as heck. Lets just see if he can put it together when he gets ample playing time.

Greyboy.

I do agree with you to a point but its not something new.

Jimmy Johnson first (I say that very loosely) explored this by putting

Safetys at LB
LB's at DE
DE's at DT.

However.. There are still loads of teams that run the ball with great effect. And as any DC will tell you, you have to stop the run first.

I do like speed at LB and as I have thought of for a long time, someone like Eric Norwood could transition to ILB and be a big playmaker in a spot that we havent had many plays from for a while. He's also 252lbs so you get the best of both worlds.

Dumbest post ever. Chris Johnson is NFL size, McCluster is not. He'll never be the lead back in an offense.

javhid best is the same type of runner except better
