Why does Armando think McCown is going to be the starting QB? I cant open it because my work blocks it. McCown is a journeyman at best why would he ever start over Beck or even Henne?
 
i think it'll be an open competition between he and Beck, but i wouldn't be too surprised to see McCown get the nod. He has a ton of experience and this is a young offense in need of some veteran leadership
 
I know it will be an open comp. but Armando at the Herald said McCown will be the starter. He has proved nothing and why not give Beck a fair shake. McCown sucks

I prefer Beck. I think he has more potential but if McCown gives the best chance to win than I support the move!

However, I think they should start the guy they think is the future and let them grow and evolve with the team.
 
McCown has years of starting experience over the other two...Nobody really knows if McCown is any good because he's only started for awful teams so he may actually be a great player when finally behind a great line and with a complimentary dominant running game...AND last year, every time he was even 35% healthy they started his broken body over Ocho-Stinko Culpepper which either says something good about McCown, bad about Daunte, but probably equal parts both.
 
i dont think Mccown will start... i just dont see him beating out Beck in an open competition
 
How many NFL games has Beck won?? How many NFL games has Henne won?? Exactly. So why shouldnt McCown be the starter? He has improved every crappy team he has played for. Any Parcells has always prefered veteran QBs. And McCown is the one Parcells and Co signed, not Beck.

I dont get why you think the starter shouldnt be McCown....
 
Because McCown has proven he cant take the job away from Kitna, Culpepper, and Kurt Warner. he has asked to leave at every stop he has been at because he cant win the job in an open comp so what makes you stay that McCown should be the starter His comp % is 57 and he has 35 TD's to 40 ints this is not someone i want behind our line and last year the Raiders shouldnt have been that bad but he could only seem to pull 2 wins out of the 9 games played.
 
Its simple really, neither Beck nor Henne have done anything to date to 'earn' the starting QB job ... McCown hasn't either - BUT he has started in this league ... so, if you were to pencil someone in - without the benefit of TC, it would be McCown.

Not saying i want McCown .... because i don't
 
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see McCown win the starting job. He has more NFL experience than any other QB currently on our roster, and I highly doubt Beck will be beating him out. In fact, I think Beck will have his hands full battling Henne for the back-up position...

IN TUNA WE TRUST!!!....
 
If you want to base it on experience alone McCown gets the nod but from a talent stand point we should see what Beck has then Henne because we already know what McCown is capable of lets see what the other 2 got.

Its just his opinion which doesnt hold a lick of salt with me. Just because Armondo said it means nothing, dont worry. If McCown starts itll be because Beck and Henne were worse than him in TC. Its going to be an open competition
 
I am so excited for this upcoming season it finally feels good to be a Dolpfan! I took a beating last year rooting for the Dolphins and i stay proud to be a fan. Now i just want to beat the Pats again because i hate them so much!
