McCown update (starter?) and Pace update

Free agent LB Calvin Pace is reportedly looking for "Joey Porter money."
He should probably be looking for more. Pace has been in deep contract talks with the Dolphins, but his asking price is reportedly slowing them down. The old regime in Miami gave Porter a five-year, $32 million deal last March.

Dolphins signed QB Josh McCown to a two-year, $6.25 million contract.

We'll pencil him in as their new starter, although McCown will have to hold off John Beck and most likely a draft pick. McCown, 28, has always had the physical traits (arm, athleticism, size), but never completed more than 60.4% of his passes or had a 7.0+ YPA in a season. He is not the long-term answer, but that's also not what the Dolphins are expecting from him. Feb. 29 - 5:07 pm et

Give Pace the money..he is a great player and one of those physical LB's that Parcells loves. If Joey Porter plays like he did against the Steelers last year and Crowder keeps up the good play then we would have a really good Linebacking core, and having Taylor and all the new guys from D-Line it would make our run defense much better.

I'm just waiting to update you guys on the PACE deal :) then JT trade for a 2nd and a 4th (hence the pick up of pace to play SOLB and porter back to WOLB). Oo ya also javon walker bwahahaa :D

i think the pace deal will get done eventually, i think being deep in talks means both sides want in, it is just going to take some give and take

he is all ready in miami, the dolphins and pace have been in deep contract negotiations all day, he reportedly wants porter type money and it is slowing down the talks

i still think it will get done eventually

He was one tackle behind Karlos Dansby, the team leader who was franchised with like 4 sacks less than Pace.

Pace has been at Davie much of the day.

And the "number 3 LB in Arizona" is hugely misleading as a statement as every team plays with 3 or 4 LB's. He was shifted from DE where he was miscast to OLB in a 4-3 where he was similarly miscast. He's a 3-4 outside guy.
