McCoy and Bowles?

Do you think the only reason we are keeping Bowles in the running is because we want him to stay on as DC? We keep eliminating guys and he is staying in the running, he surely isnt going to get the job IMO but are they just trying to keep him around and eventually have him take the DC job?

I think that has been the plan all along. That they wanted an offensive minded head coach and with Nolan leaving they would make Bowles the DC. Plus the rumor was that Bowles took over the play calling on defense half way through the season anyways.

i didnt say it would be the ideal situation, i just was asking if that was what you guys see happening... i could very well see this scenario playing out like this, based on how the interviews have gone down

I'd be okay with Bowles as the DC but Jack Del Rio is still available and he would definitely be my first choice for that position now that Spags has signed with the Saints.

i think this MAY be irelands little way of making up for his infamous "is your mother a filthy crack whore" blunder that was roundly panned, expecially in black community. "hey! look everybody! i love black people"!! see ! i hired todd bowles so we can just forget now about that lil prostitute thingy i did.

this is just like last year when they wanted us to think they looked high and low for a better coach than tony but their intention all along was to give him one more year. ross just didnt think it through that people would be hi browing him seemingly going after a coach and not firing the one he had. he was NEVER hiring harbaugh.

and he isnt hiring mccoy. he wasnt hiring fisher or philbin or your great aunt rita, the plan was to get the other "parcells guy", todd bowles, into that coaching chair. its like that bunch has a blood pact together or something.

it will be BOWLES as H/C. Dabol will continue as O/C, and whatever cronie of todd's he wants to put in as D/C. wouldnt suprise me if he anounces he will also be taking care of the defense.

all this, "well, look at the bright side, ANYONE is better than sparano" junk is rediculous. you would think that the last 3 years of this country would have wised people up to the "he's gotta be better than the other guy" thought process. that kind of thinking can backfire real, real bad. it usually does. it has.

and thats ALL that was, a rumour, brought here by our good friend KB21. why he did it, i have no idea, but before he said that, i have not seen ONE POST, ANYWHERE, ON ANY OTHER BOARD from any other poster who mentions that BEFORE kb did here this week. now its spreading like wildfire. REDICOULOUS!!!

i asked him to give us all proof that this happened. he provided NOTHING! no links, no videos, no articles, NOTHING. and i asked another poster who who alluded to this rumour the same thing, wheres the proof? no proof.

this would have been a big deal and you would have heard about it a zillion times from nfl network to dolphin digest. it would have been all over the boards during the season. it wasnt. you really think some lacky who has NEVER been anything more than an assistant [the assistant h/c thing was just a title so they could get him from the cowboys] neutered the D/C, a d/c who is considered one the very best in the nfl at his craft and not one little peep was said about it untill now by some sports board poster?

think it through folks. just think about everything that would have stirred up in the finz locker room, front offices and staff. so what are we to believe, jeff ireland sees mike nolan at the snack machine and says, "oh, yeah, mike, glad i ran into you. todd bowles is going to be calling the defense now, just thought you should know". and nolan says, "oh, ok. thanx for letting me know. hey! did you see they brought back the chocolate covered payday bars again?"

yeah. it would have not been a quiet conversation and nolan probably would have told jeff "howdy-doody" ireland to cram it and left right then!!

yes because ireland is thinking about that almost a year later. That whole dez bryant situation was blown way out of proportion and if bowles is hired for HC (which i highly doubt) it will be because he is the best man for the job (in our FO eyes) and not to make up for calling dez mom a prostitute.
