McD postgame transcript

Still a major mistake by Grier/Coach not to see the oline as a problem. If they did see it as a problem it was addressed completely wrong. It has and will cost us. Also, if McD doesn't light a fire under the pos special teams coach he should be called out ontheir performance week in and out. Our teams unit is an embarrassment like our oline.

Don’t really think it’s fair to blame either Grier or McDaniel for the oline. To be fair they brought in 2 of the best oline available. It’s unreasonable to replace 4 of the 5 guys like we probably needed (hunt only stays) and they also looked solid when everyone plays. Now that we are playing musical olinemen with both tackles out we’ve fallen apart. Olinemen don’t grow on trees.

Special teams units do blow.

I disagree they tried but tried wrong. I support the Armstead pick-up for experience but absolutely knew he would miss games as most people did. Our center doesn't snap good and he's a guard. We need a good center, another tackle and a guard because these guys get there **** pushed in more often than not. Also, where's the bruising back? We draft guys that can't get on the field, No E, Long shows nada. I like McD but he's got some work to do.

If you watch a lot of NFL football, and not just the fins, there are quite a few teams with suspect O lines. Hard for that unit to be healthy for an entire season.

I think they understood it, but chose to focus on WR. And the Hill deal was a rare situation. But this off-season I hope they get obsessed with the OL.

That’s what I’m saying. There’s simply not enough good olinemen in the nfl. Replacing 4 in one offseason is not feasible. They brought in two very good ones and before the injuries they looked improved. You just can’t have 5 great starters with 3 backups that can step up and be great as well.

McDaniel's style of offense will use a full-back (Ingold) and will not use a bruising back. I would be greatly surprised if we draft a bruising back as a tailback/every down back in the McDaniel led Dolphins.

Well we’re nearly dead last in running the football so somethings Gotta give we need either a bruising line or a back that can knock somebody backwards to gain some yards. I understand it’s a work in progress and we look fine the first three games until the injury bug bit but it still needs to be addressed
