Great article. It does a good job of explaining the differences between the two. Obviously, McDaniel and Shanahan know each other like only best friends who worked closely together can. They are going to both have something special in the can for each other on both sides of the ball and even ST. But, we need to keep in mind that 49ers still have the same DC in Ryan whose D went up against MM's offense in practice every day last year. To me, that game comes down to how well Boyer can use MM's knowledge of KS's offense. Sure would be nice to have a guy named Jones in at CB for this one but that won't happen I'm guessing. We need to get to Jimmy G early and often as well.

I never thought McD would "carbon copy" SF's offense. Tried to tell ppl that from the start.

If anything, I thought McD had his own philosophy, that likely didn't mirror that of Shanahan, particularly in the passing attack. He's a very bright guy. Not that Shanahan isn't, but usually when smart ppl work for other smart ppl, it's the bosses' vision/philosophy that is king, while the underling bides his time before getting the opportunity to run his own show, his own way.

For the grammatically challenged, McDaniel with an apostrophe "s" is correct when showing "possession"............... I get, and agree with, the pet peeve of erring by saying "McDaniels" rather than the correct McDaniel, however in this case, "McDaniel's" is the right formulation in American English.

Which just makes his critics sound completely ignorant when they say "anybody can throw 5 yards and let their weapons get all the yards." It simply has NOT happened to a major extent.
