The Denver Broncos released running back Willis McGahee on Thursday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

McGahee, pushing 32, is coming off a significant knee injury that sidelined him for the final two months last season and was set to make $2.5 million in 2013. McGahee said earlier this week that he's 100 percent now and has no restrictions running.

A couple seasons ago, I'd be all over Miami going after him. Not so much anymore. Pushing 32 and coming off a pretty significant injury. Although, he claims that he is 100% and ready to go. Would be an upgrade over DT for sure. But I don't see us going after him. Pretty interesting that he was released. I had recently read where the Broncos said he would be the starter for them. Interesting.

LOL.........was he just saying last week he was looking forword to being the main back this year.

LOL. Yeah he was. I doubt it takes him long to find a spot somewhere though. And I think he'd be okay, at this point in his career, with not being THE main man.

When I saw McGahee's knee get shattered in his last college game (2003 Fiesta Bowl, National Championship Game), I thought his football days were over. It was a horrific injury, with his leg being bent 90 degrees the wrong way, tearing every ligament in his knee. Almost as bad as the Napoleon McCallum injury.

It's quite remarkable that McGahee recovered, and went on to rack up 8000+ yds rushing in the NFL.

I'd sign him for a 1 yr deal at $2 million max. I'd feel much better having him combo'd up with Miller and Gillislee.
