Donning colors other than the red, white and blue for the first time in his 12 year career, Willie McGinest had plenty to say about his former team at the Browns training camp.

According to the San Diego Tribune, McGinest felt the Patriots success was due to an exceptional core group of players, and that they never received enough credit.

"When you start losing your core guys, it's kind of hard, especially when the guys who are coming in don't work as hard or play as hard," said McGinest.

"(Last year) We had injuries. You had (Richard) Seymour hurt early and Rodney Harrison was out. Those are some of our core guys, and some of the (replacements) coming in were terrible. Duane Starks, he came in and played like trash. He was terrible. You had other guys coming in that couldn't fill the shoes of some of those guys that had been there for years and (were) your core guys."

Thats ex teammate...I agree with him Starks stunk and he's not with the team any longer. Come to think of it our defense stunk after Harrison and Seymour went down but Willie was still in there. I wonder if he included himself as playing bad because after Seymour and Harrison were out I didn't see much of a pass rush. Begining of FA comes and the pats don't even make Big willie an offer so I guess Belichick considered him part of the problem not part of the solution.....which I guess is good reason to have sour grapes.

I hate it when a guy opens his mouth after he leaves a team or is traded.

belichick would of never allowed him to be so vocal while on the team. im willing to bet you wont find one pats fan that would disagree with his statement.

(watch, starks is going to be a shut down corner this year) :D

I wouldn't count on that.

I like it when a guy blasts his teammates for poor play when he is still on the team. I hate to see a guy who isn't playing hard make excuses and have the coaching staff make excuses for him. If he is just struggling that is one thing, but if a guy is loafing around out on the field he needs a kick in the butt from a teammate.

im pretty sure they were hard on him last year, but the pats never do anything public

starks filled up many mornings on sports talk and none of it was nice

I could have sworn that the Eagles were so pi$$ed with T.O. that intead of suspending him they wanted to have him wacked and if he hadn't had so much publicity they probably would have put a hit out on him. :D
