Just wanted to let you all know that as of last week I am now representing Damion McIntosh. In regards to the recent shakeup in the starting lineup, I think it makes sense. While Vernon Carey has done a very nice job at left tackle up to this point, it's such a crucial position that coaches prefer to go with somebody experienced. D-Mac wasn't close to healthy last year and it showed in his performance. In case you haven't watched Damion closely this year, he's been incredible (and I'm not just saying that because I'm his agent). He's been a proven starting left tackle for years and that's why Miami and other teams wanted him so badly last offseason. I think Vernon will make the adjustment to the right side just fine and it will only take pressure off him and aid in his development in the long run.

We are going to want an interview with him for the website! Hook us up Brett!

Dude no offense but I would be inclined to think the coaches have different reasons for this. Carey has been stellar as a left tackle so far, especially if you evaluate the game tapes. Damion should take this as a sign that the coaches think he is better at LT than McDougle is at RT, because Carey is the star player that's being moved over to solve a problem at a problem position, not D-Mac.

I disagree. RT is the least important position on the o-line. You can always throw a TE next to a RT to help him out. The key position is LT and if Vernon can't hold his own, then someone else much be given a shot.

This move shows me that we have the same problems as last year. No tackles on our o-line.

True, it sounds like they are doing with Carey what they tried to do with Hadnot.

There are holes at other positions so let's see if we can take Carey and Hadnot move them over and see if the lesser of 2 evils has Mcintosh at lt or Mcdougle at RT. Or to have McKinney at Center or Whitley at RG

Well...If I remember correctly...Vernon looked like a better RT than LT when he played at the University of Miami. He was really drafted to play RT...I've read that RT was more of his "natural" position.

Now...I also thought that D-Mac was more "suitable" to play RT rather than LT...right?

When I first read about this o-line "shake-up" I thought that it would make more sense to move D-Mac to RT and leave Vernon at LT...or move St. Clair to RT.

Or maybe...Houck wants to put his best o-lineman on the field all at once regardless of what position they're more suitable to play.

Go Fins!!!

Tell that to Nick Saban, who is absolutely livid over McDougle's performance in the past two games. Tell that to Gus Frerotte, who got smashed to the ground a few times because of right tackle play.

Right tackle is the second-most important position on the line, and if you don't believe me, go ahead and do the research on the salaries yourself, and you will find right tackles to be the second-highest paid OL behind only left tackles. I'm not going to do the research for you, because at this point I'm very surprised you think right tackle is the least important position on the line.

That is exactly what I think they are doing. Make no mistake, Carey was our absolute best offensive linemen through the end of the Jaguars game. I would say through the Steelers game, but I have not gotten the chance to grade them out in the Steelers game yet. But, I have graded out the Bears and Jags games. Again, Carey the most impressive by a mile. And if you think I'm biased toward Carey you should see some of the posts I wrote about him last season.

LT-most important
C-second most
RG
LG---gotta be strong up the middle
RT--least important (can always throw a TE next to him and give him help)

No offense either, but you are hyping dmac a bit. He isn't that good. He is only a stop gap until we get someone better

OK man, you have a right to your opinion, but I also have a right to be correct... :)

Im with CK I dont think this move was made to "Upgrade" LT it was made because of Mcdougles play.. Vernon has been solid even dominant at times.
