"Two solid veterans who could be had for the right price are OT Damion McIntosh, who has started 67-of-71 career NFL games, and DT Jeff Zgonina, a savvy 14-year vet who has missed three games the past seven seasons. Both players could fetch a draft pick in a trade or even be a part of a player-for-player deal."

Had not seen this before. trading him might leave us thinat LT.

Alabi hasn't shown he can take over just yet. He still needs polishing. I would be suprised if that happened.

Yea i don't see us ditching Mcintosh at all, but I guess "if the price is right" anything is possible. But I doubt it . . . the Z trade is much much more possible, and I see that happening.

It's educated spec. Zgonina, absolutely they're making calls about him as we speak. But Mac I'm not so sure. Losing him would leave us pretty thin at tackle. And having him makes us pretty deep.

Now, if somebody decided they had to have him and offered us a 1st day draft pick, then yeah....you consider taking the risk and do the deal.

if it meant trading for a true Gaurd that is young and upcoming and coming from a team who has depth at the postion, I am all for it, but the other thing to consider here is LT backup. big position to leave open considering our other holes and depth in the interior.

I tend to think Mac stays.

Much of this will ofcourse depend on the coaches opinion of Alabi. I really have not yet seen a big improvement Shelton IMO he isn't a noticiable upgrade over Mac.

I think it's more likely they'd use him to get a RB. But I guess it could be anything including a draft pick.

a little late to start tinkering with the o-line,especially at LT. Mac stays, Z goes, but probably not for much.

I doubt we are able to make a single trade before the deadline. Every team knows we are going to have to cut someone on the d-line and youth will probably win the day, which means Jeff is a goner.

Not necessarily, that would be more of a reason to make a trade . . . what if there are more than one team interested? A trade would secure Z's services . . . him being released, its more of a crap shoot. Joey would have been released most likely if we didn't offer the sixth . . . but we did, he got in camp on time and we secured his services. Yea u may get Z w/o the trade, but the trade secures it.

D-Mac could be needed as depth, which we sorely lack on the OL. And he probably won't be sent for a RB. As Denver showed, a good OL makes any RB look good.

Zgonina probably could be traded but I'm not certain teams will want to give us anything with any kind of value for him.
