McIntosh Will Have a BIG Effect

If this would happen to be true, then everyone of them needs to be replaced.

You do not quit because someone else is not as good as you. You get them to try harder.

Also for anyone to say the Smith is the only one on the line not pulling his weight then they or either biased against Smith or not very wise. No one and I repeat no one on Miami's OL is doing their job.

Smith man was not the only one meeting AJ & Gordon in the backfield the other night.

Then they are where they need to be. Sitting at home.

You are grasping at dreams. The whole OL is terrible. Also its not the players, its the coaches. Two OL in a row cannot be this bad without the OL coach being a huge part of the problem.
First, I never said Smith was the only one who isn't pulling his weight. I'm talking about the effect of Smith's poor play on EVERYONE on the line.

Second, as much as we'd like to have pre-programmed robots out there so that none of these psychological variables would matter, the fact still remains that we're dealing with HUMANS and human nature. It's human nature to give up trying to change something that even your best efforts haven't changed.

When the coaches call a running play off left tackle, and everybody on the line gives their best effort and the play still gets stuffed because Smith allows his man to tackle the RB in the backfield, how many times do you think the other linemen are gonna watch that happen before they start getting discouraged and letting that affect their own play?

This is really simple folks. It's human nature 101.

Here's football blocking 101 kids. Block your guy and push him to create holes for the running back to go through. Or push him to block a line backer blitzing through. Actually just make sure when the ball is snapped that you have both hands pushing on someone.

By the end of the Dolphins game I was screaming for our line to just grab a guy and start blocking him and forget the damn schemes.

I'm with you 100%, but if everyone on the line can do that BUT Smith, it won't be long before NObody on the line can do it.

No one on that line was doing that, Smith was just the worst offender. St. Clair got turnstiled, Whitley never actually moved forward while on the field it looked like he was moon-walking out there, Seth had better put on like 50 pounds and grow 5 inches or something, James looked real bad playing between Smith and McKinney, and well Wade Smith..............I don't think I need to say anything else. The entire line to a man was outmuscled by the Bengals, outskilled be the Begals and outcoached by the Bengals.

Right, and now let's go back to my analogy. You've been on a 5-man tug-of-war team for 4 months now (about the length of camp starting with the mini-camps). Every time you've taken on another 5-man tug-of-war team, you've gotten blown out because there's one REALLY weak guy on your team. Try as you might, you haven't been able to compensate for this really weak guy, and he shows no signs of getting any better. In fact it looks like he's getting worse.

How do you think you're gonna feel going into the NEXT match? You think you're gonna go out there giving your best effort, expecting to win? Or do you think you might start showing signs of helplessness and discouragement?

Sorry...Just don't buy into the whole "Oh Wade plays like crap so I'm gonna fake it." philosophy. These guys are PAID professionals. The film never lies and I am sure the coaches would know if players were taking plays off.

Not only do they risk getting cut, but their future employment as well for another team.

I don't agree with your thoughts regarding the coach noticing. Tony Wise doesn't seem to know what state he's in let alone whether all of his players are playing at 100 %.

It was implied.

I never played professionally, but I did play sports growing up and I played with people better than me and worse than me. I never once let their performance affect how hard I tried. Its about self respect.

You still do your job and do not concern yourself with his.

So you are basically saying all humans have no self respect and will let other affect how they perform their job. Total BS.

If a player lets a poor performance of another lessen their commitment to themselves & the team, then a coach does not want them on the team.

Smith was also going up against their best DLman. Also you are correct, not one person on that line were doing their job.

Telling you guys. No line can be this bad without it saying something about the coaching.

So did the Raiders lose all their self-respect in quitting on Bill Callahan last year?

Yes I do. This isn't tug-of-war. This is the NFL. Each of those players current and future pay is determined by how well they perform.

Self respect. Any man who quits regardless of reason does not have it.

So then why was the line so much better with Mark Dixon at left tackle, even with the same coaching and Ruddy, Perry, and Nails in there, all of whom are no longer in the league?

Yes. They lost pride in themselves. You do not quit no matter what. You overcome.

I hated one of my coaches. However I was the one on the court being looked at. I may have played poorly at times, but it was not because I quit or did not care. I cared for myself.

Mark Dixon was one of the most underated offensive lineman around the league.

Maybe...perhaps...it could be...that the Pats players knew that Brady was better...and therefore played better for him b/c they knew that Bledsoe was "all done." Oh and now the Bills have him :roflmao:
No one can disagree that Brady is a better qb. I'd still take Drew over any of your qb's though even though he's all washed up and Feely is still young.
