Bryant McKinnie potential return to Dolphins as a right tackle not ruled out, per source. Most likely he signs with a team after the draft

i would be down with that as depth and a great mentor to the youngins!! technique advice from a very good lineman is priceless

Yeah, kind of expected this.

McKinnie will likely get a vet minimum and competes for a back up spot during camp.

Would be ok with McKinnie as our primary LT/RT back up honestly.

I like Big Mac and would welcome his return.. Solid starter or add great depth.. Win win..

At this stage in his career (and the amount of money he's made), I doubt he plays for vet minimum. He'd probably opt to retire.

He's played for a mil the last 2 seasons. He knows he's not worth much. Wouldn't you take a mil to lift and play a game you love?

After the draft there should be several older vets who get released. Wade Smith and guys like Mckinney and Clabo will be looking for jobs as well and I think if we are unable to fill all our needs in the draft they are all options for 1 or 2 year minimum deals.
i like what McKinney did coming here and immediately stepping in to start but there maybe better options available.

If not mistaken, Big Mac played for basically chump change last year. He and everyone in the league knows he has scraps left in the tank, maybe enough to play starter but enough to play back up. Vet minimum, ok, maybe a bump above vet minimum gets him back. I don't see teams rushing out to sign a 35 year old tackle with his best days WAY behind him.

He may just decide to retire, true, just like every vet on a minimal contract. No one knows except him, but if he has already announced that he is willing and happy to come back to the Fins, then why not.

Sign me up for the blonde. :chuckle:

potential fall back option should the draft come up goose eggs...still could be signed as the swing tackle as well though...
