I can't wait for the day when I can follow a thread that doesn't include the "Ireland sucks/Ireland is a hero"

Well, regardless of who noticed it and made the adjustment, I'm glad they did. I just hope that at the end of the season someone takes a hard look at coach Turner. Ultimately, it's his job to coach the OL and make recommendations on who should be starting. I thank God that Martin is so mentally weak that he removed himself from the team. If he hadn't, there is no way that we would be in the playoff race.
 
What's done is done, regarding Ireland's failures. Right now we have a team that controls its own destiny and is gellin' like Magellan (does that work as a phrase?) The squad that Ireland put together has won 8 games and is poised to win 10. It's up to the players now. Were we to fail now, it would be on the players, just as it's on them to make the plays and win games. I mean, the coaches are in this too. Unless Sherman and Philbin suddenly get real dumb, I think they'll do enough for us to win too. I can't think of any moments, off-hand, where I cursed Sherman in that whole game Sunday. Same with Philbin.
In fact, I can question Belichick more than Philbin, that's for sure. He's got a weapon like Darren Sproles and he hardly used him. I think you make the other team prove that they can stop your weapon before you stop it yourself. I think New England probably abandoned the run too early too, as so many teams do.
My point is that it seems like Philbin and Sherman and Coyle certainly held their own this Sunday too.

We will all see if our players make the plays that are there to be made. If we do, we'll be playing next month (beyond week 17).

They had to rely on a 34 year old veteran with a sordid past who had been with the team a bare few months in order to notice the problem and correct his TEAMMATE's pass set.

That doesn't concern anyone else? This is a nugget that brings on the warm and fuzzies?

Even putting that aside, Bryant McKinnie has a sordid past (and present) yet he's been put in position to be a leader on the team. That's exactly what got Miami into trouble with Richie Incognito.

It is really easy to nitpick these type of details but without all the information you are only making a conclusion on limited data, which is wrong.
So Philbin is supposed to be obsessing about minutiae on the O-line while acting as HC of a game?
Same with Sherman who is busy calling plays?
The only one that should be obsessing about O-line minutiae is Turner.

Also the issue got fixed. How do we not know that this was a round table convo between the coaches and players. Mckinnie may have picked up on it because he was right there.
Not to mention the problem was fixed in the game!!!

Yet the anti-Philbin propaganda machine is right there ready to turn a positive into a negative.

As sure as the sun comes up, you will always question this coaching staff. Again I just point out the fact of your bias opinion is all.

There is a ton of evidence out there to support this. Watch the games again.

Tannehill has been moved around more of as late to get him better protection. More read options to freeze the DE, more play action, and more WR and TE screens to keep the DL honest. These are things that went missing during our losing streak and now they are back.

Wheeler may be the worst coverage linebacker in all of football and finally the coaches found it beneficial to take him out on 3rd downs and passing situations. They pulled Wheeler out against the Patriots and put Jenkins in against Shave Vereen for coverage purposes.

These are just a couple of the examples of the many things they have made late adjustments to. That said, they still are doing a solid job, but if they were doing better we could possibly be 10-4 instead of 8-6. Those are just the facts. I hope for our sake the coaches get better at making adjustments much sooner.

I was beating the "Sign McKinnie" drum all offseason. Spilt milk I guess.

But, now that we have him I hope fans are starting to understand the value of experienced leaders. Even if they have lost a step, they make everyone around them better. Savvy vets are a key part of any successful team. The best tool in any player's arsenal is his brain.

The challenge now is keeping AND managing McKinnie. He has his issues, but the man brings it when its money time. His ability to answer the bell and share his knowledge would be invaluable as a short term starter then mentoring backup over the next few years.

Honestly, I want him signed more than anyone else next year. We NEED this guy. I don't care how old he is.

And lastly, he is one individual that the TV does NOT do justice. Watching him on the field in person is like watching a giant play with mere mortals. His size garners a certain amount of respect on both teams. He's a nice presence to have in the huddle. Gives guys a certain confidence that "the big guy" has their back.
 
What's really disturbing about this story is we have a head coach who has been an OL coach, we have an OL coach, we have an OC and not one of these guys picked that up to say something or make that kind of an adjustment. Very disturbing to me. I think the way Tannehill has played these last 3 game win streak is make these coaches look better than what they are.

I would definately look to bring back McKinnie at LT. Cement him as the starter for next year and draft a future LT but to start as RT next year.

Maybe but don't they say o-line units need time together to gel? Is that just whats happening here? If not, what does "gel" even mean?
 
Resign Mckinney and Clabo (1 yr deal) and draft 2 Tackles and Two G's or one be a G/T type (Linder)
