McKinnie suggested adjustment that helped stop the Patriots pass rush

If we look at this correctly, we need to thank Jonathan Martin for this. When he realized he didn't have the guts to make it at left tackle, it set off a series of events that ended up with Ireland getting McKinnie. Hey glass half full or half empty? I prefer half full! And by the way, McKinnie needs to be brought back for another year. He is a mountain of a man.

Do you know Mckinnies offseason history? You should read up on it before commenting. The last couple seasons he has had to play himself into shape. Last season in Baltimore he didn't even start a lot of the regular season and only came along, after he got into shape, during the playoffs.

Martin didn't implode until AFTER we got McKinnie and moved Martin to RT. We owe him nothing but eternal derision.

only here can people take a veteran making an observation and suggesting a change to the rookie as a reason to push blame on coaches.
 
McKinnie is a 12 year vet....player see and "feel" things on the field that coaches can't see....McKinnie making the suggestion is what experience vets do on every team.

And you still feel he should the bookend next season and we should count on him to do things the right way? You aren't concerned with said history?
 
I want to bring back Mckinnie next season too but, I wouldn't count on him being what he is know. He just hasn't proven that he could be trusted for an entire season. If he is bought back next season, we have to his backup solidified.

I played for many years....
 
I remember McKinnie being on NFL Network during the offseason while he was a free agent saying something like: 'I played for cheap last year, no more cheap deals from me.' Obviously the league didn't agree and he went back to the Ravens. The point is he's going to want to get paid again this year so don't be shocked if he's back on the market for a while.
