McKinnie suggests change of rhythm and cadence

This is another reason as to why we NEED to resign McKinney. He shows veteran leadership on the line almost on a weekly basis. This is the second time he made a suggestion (that we publicly heard) to the line. The first being schooling Brenner on the break in the line during the Patriots game, and correcting it. I never heard Long doing anything like this. McKinney bring positive vocal reinforcement and seemingly knows what needs to be done and what adjustments need to be made. His play aside, this is enough for me to want him resigned to be our starting LT until we can find a good replacement/upgrade.

you think the players need the coaches to tell them to get fired up for a divisional rival, and a chance at the playoffs? If that's the case, miami should just go ahead and clean house. top to bottom. including all 53 players. As a person that's played football for many years, I got hyped up enough, just knowing we are going up against rivals and/or playoffs were in reach. The players/leaders/captains of the team also helped get me fired up.

That may be the case with you but everybodys different. Some need a coaches hype before a game.

There might be something giving away the snap count but it isn't the go, go-go thing... Cause as soon as the D bites on it and sells out, we`ll change it and burn them... Pretty sure every D coordinator we play against advise their player to pay absolutely no attention to it just because of that, its a double edge sword and becomes a distraction to the other team... What really happened IMO is very simple, the worst OL in the league against one of the best Dline in the league, there wasn't any creativity on our part play selection wise to try and slow their pass run, we didn't run enough, we didn't call screens except for the usual Wallace screen which every team expects by now... The Pouncey thing? maybe... but not the snap count...

They "changed it and burned them" in 1 game only (chargers I think) all year. The rest of the time they've snapped the ball on either go which means pass or go go which is a run. Those are pretty compelling odds to argue with. I'm pretty sure every defensive coord. is making sure his unit is aware of it. Yes we do have a poor o line but the cadence and type of play called being given away doesn't help them one bit.

I don't know about you guys but when I played football, a few years ago,:) the play was called in the huddle. The only reason to call it at the line was if we were changing the play and I'm pretty sure it is still done that way.
So my question obviously, is why does RT have to call out the same play he just called in the huddle by utilizing go (run) or (go go) pass, Unless there is a change. My next question then is if they already know the play, what is so difficult about changing the hup count and voice inflection like every other offence does such as hup1, hup2 hup3 hup4 or go1,2,3,4 as they like to use?
Because right now after the 2nd go, the defence is as ready as if they were in our huddle.

"His play aside" is comical. He has not played well at all, and needs to be replaced. He can coach later.

McKinnie seems to be a leader. Instead of doing what Philbin attempted to do at first, we should retain him at least for another year, to lead that unit, which will certainly be full of new faces.

Did anyone bother to watch his play or, just read the forum saying he is a benefit to the team? He has been as bad as Martin, and possibly worse.

I'm just speculating here but maybe there's 2 calls in the huddle and when Tannehill gets ready to read the defense he actually is audibling and deciding whether they run the run play or pass play that's called. Again pure speculation on my part but they seem so stubborn on sticking with the go calls.

come on man, we were 3-1 coming in... what those 3 wins came against bad coaching staffs...?

Right. So lets create another hole. Its not like LG, RG, and RT is enough to replace, lets add LT too. He is serviceable enough to keep him around another year.

i dont see how changing up the cadence would have helped sam brenner from getting owned one on one in a nanosecond vs kyle williams...or the sack by jerry hughes vs mckinnie who was beaten soundly around the corner on the play...could it have helped with the timing on some of those slot blitzes yeah sure i guess so but all these were like 3rd and long sacks...might have helped more if we could have stayed in more manageable downs and distances and when we did work off pa the damn wr hartline catch the damn ball instead of killing drives...

our guys got physically whooped up front all game it was more than just a bills knew our snap count etc thing...3rd and long over and over...

b't guys the head bob thing i'm not buying...the falcons center monday night bobbed his damn head all game long before the snap and i didn't see guys jumping things as a result...and he also was getting tapped by the left guard presnap

It is VERY simple!!
If the defense knows it is a pass (passing down) they can get a huge jump. They know like everyone else, there is only one "go" on passes, and we never use a dummy count or hard count. Therefore, he its 3rd and long pin your ears back only one "go" coming its a pass
