Has anyone heard about any talks at all? He is averaging 7 catches for 66 yards an a TD per game... I'm not sayin he will... but if he stays on that pace, that puts him with 112 catches for 1,056 yards and 16 TDs... Um... can we resign this guy already before he gets too expensive?? He is nasty... and easily our biggest offensive threat... He also looks like he has improved his consistancy and focus... What is the freakin hold up?

According to PFW (I think that's where I read it) we've already started talks with McMichael about a contract extension.

Sure, I'll try to find it. I believe it was an ESPN Insider piece by PFW.

That wasn't it. That piece was about McIntosh, McDougle, Carey, & Donnie Jones.

I know I read it the other day.

i remember reading somewhere also that we are looking to extend his contract

Are we close at all? Has anyone seen or heard about any of the figures yet?

good question Nasty. if we dont get something done soon, the fins could be in a bad spot

we could have a 90 catch TE on our hands who looks at brown's contract and wants to know why he isnt getting paid the same. if that happens, i dont think he'll be here next year

They will most likely try to sign him on the cheap with all these dumb charges against him. If they can't find an acceptable deal they will most likely use the franchise tag on him. TE's top 5 salaries are pretty low and we will be able to afford that number no problem for 1 year.

I think we should sign him to a 6 year 20 million dollar contract with a 4 million dollar signing bonus and give him like ten million dollars guaranteed cash.

ya... but I dont like the tag (while from the business side it might be a smart move)... He is a great player and he deserves a long-term contract...

I remember reading an article a long time back where McMike said he was willing to resign and was interested in talking. He also said he wouldn't hold out. I think he said that at the OTA's.

Worse case scenario you can always tag him. TE's salary are generally low in comparison to other offensive positions so it shouldn't cost that much .......but on the other hand I'm not sure on the contract amounts for Gonzales, Gates, or Crumpler which obviously has a direct impact on the amount of $
