I'll take Mcnair over the other 2 guys.
-McNair (if available) doesn't cost us a draft pick like Culpepper.
-McNair will come MUCH cheaper than both Culpepper and Brees.
-McNair is somehow healthier than both Culpepper and Brees.

I have faith that we have the best Coaches in the NFL, and coaching makes a young QB. So get McNair, save money, shorter contract commitment, save draft picks, draft a 2nd/3rd/4th round QB to learn for the next 2 years.

Furthermore Brees just figured out his own system after being lost, Culpepper was completely lost last year in a new system, I think McNair could make the transition quicker and more effectively.

I see McNair as hungrier, he is at the end ... his time is the next 2 years.
Gimme McNair & a young project for our world class coaching staff to mold into what we need for the next 2 years. Going into a playoff game, i'll take a healthy McNair over Drew Brees or Choker Culpepper.

The Money saved on getting McNair will go a long way.

McNair is still going to want money. He may or may not cost as much as the two but Id still rather see Brees here. Like Boomer and CK have been saying, he locks up the QB position for 5 to 7 years and we can use picks on different positions of need.

That's not true.

I've liked McNair for his skills, vet experience, and not costing anything in draft picks or players traded.

That said, I think Drew is the better option, as he has all the advantages listed above, and is... wait for it.... A LONG TERM solution at QB for the Phins. No worries (barring further injury) for the next five years or longer.

That means draft picks focused on other team needs.

McNair could be signed for about 80% of what Brees will want, but not much cheaper than that. Drew may even be willing to have more incentives, as he gets a long term contract and won't be looking over his shoulder at Rivers.

I'm just glad that Saban seems to be very serious about upgrading at the QB position. Those years of Wanny/Fielder still haunt me. :boohoo:

I'll take any of the three, thanks.

Yes, don't mind me, NFL teams, just whichever one you're not using would be fine. K, thnks.

Go for Brees.

I love McNair but I'd rather see a long term answer in there.

Drew Brees is 6'0 210 lbs, in other words one of the smallest QB's in the NFL.
Drew sat his 1st season
Was horrible in his 2nd 17/16 and a 77 rating
was even worse in his 3rd 11/15 and a 67 rating
then got Gates as a sweet sucurity blanket along with Keenan
Brees had MUCH help in looking good that one season 27/7
And then he regressed Last year.
He has done less than Chad Pennington.
McNair I'm sure will accept in the range of 4 years 24 Million, half of which he won't see. While Brees will probably be a 6 year 40 million dollar deal at least. Handcuffing us to a questionable player who has done well in his own system...when he got great players around him, and now with a bum shoulder to along with the weak arm.
Why do you think the Chargers haven't signed him and don't seem to be in panic mode?

You know that the Lions thought they were getting their long term answer at QB with Scott Mitchell. Brees just hasn't had enough consistent success for me to trust giving him a long term deal. If he comes with a ton of protection for Miami, I don't mind brees, but he still will be tied for the shortest starting NFL QB, and that oddity isn't really what I'd want my team investing in normally. The slowest 6'0 210 QB ever...LOL I mean really. The Qb I want standing in the Pocket the next 5-7 years just isn't a short weak armed Drew Brees. Perhaps I am greedy

If McNair is indeed healthier than both, then no way he's "MUCH" cheaper than both. One thing leads to another..actually Brees and Culpepper may be cheaper to acquire now, than last year, when they were 100% healthy.
I agree that McNair would be cheaper, but not relatively much..

No thanks. I'll take Daunte or Brees over McNair any day. Are we really thinking playoffs with a guy like McNair?

I take Culpepper for a 2nd...

everyday of the week. I like Brees, but shoulder surgery to an average arm already...I take a pass. He's small and now has had a major injury to the most important limb on a QB...his shoulder.

Culpepper, knee surgery doesn't hurt his arm one bit...I'm not saying he's Dan Marino, but his lack of mobility never hurt Dan and he could never move like Daunte. So now Culpepper is a little slower? Who cares, he's got a rifle for a arm.

As far as his season in Minnesota LY, I don't judge him on that one year. Moss didn't do much in Oakland without Daunte. With the coaching and CChambers at WR in Miame, I say go for it. It will give CC something to shoot for, try and better the years DC had with Moss.

I give a second round pick for him all day long. The guy has a career 91.5 QB rating and thrown for 135 td's to 86 int's in his career, he was not a one season wonder.

2nd round pick is a gift.

Sure. We would be serious contenders with any of those three guys. Would I choose McNair first if everybody's health was equal? No.

But McNair is very underrated right now. As is Culpepper because of his miserable few games this year. But Culpepper seems to be sustaining his reputation better. McNair has a gotten an undeserved bad rap.

The biggest difference between the three, and not saying there aren't others, but McNair is an excellent choice only if you are also bringing in a rookie this year or next to be the future. McNair should have two or three really good years left in him.

Brees or Culpepper would be a longer term solution and have a higher upside.

But McNair wouldn't hinder our quest for a superbowl.

But, like I said, I'm not picky. I'll be whooping and hollering if we get any of the three.
