you guys hear taht McNeal is on track to also be a strong candidate for rookie of the year. thats crazy. I remember i really wanted this monster. now he is doing so well for SD :(

he was a round 2 correct? and AFTEr us correct?

waht a LT he would have been.

i wanted him also:( he would have been our franchise tackle for years to come and considering how carey has been playing we would have had 2 young great tackles to soidify the future of our oline. yeah i know, couldawouldashoulda, but the fact that he was taken in the 2nd round makes it hurt a little more. had he come out as a junior, i think he would have been a top 5 pick. what would we have done? ronnie or mcneal? my guess is we still would have picked ronnie considering our RB situation at the time.

Actually we picked Jason Allen instead of McNeal. And I will not even make a comment on that pick other that it is still too early to call the kid a bust but damn he should be playing better than he has been this year for a !st round pick.

Jason Allen is so bad I can't even "IMAGINE" him playing better. What's fascinating is that he's so much worse than the guys we have and other than Yeremiah Bell what the heck do we have?

renaldo hill isnt doing bad and we were winning with him so we didnt want to fix what wasnt broken. as far as for the rest of the season we'll probably see allen in safety more than just dime packages.

McNeill was rated #2 on my board behind D'Brickshaw Ferguson. However, he is outperforming D'Brickshaw by a ton.

It took our GM about 10 seconds to turn the card in to snatch him from the board.

I love him. What's so surprising about the kid is he's been so dominant that we hardly EVER give him help. He's going one-on-one with majority of the time.

He can improve a little on run blocking, but pass blocking - he's money.

Oh and literally, HE's MASSIVE. We cover the Chargers here in San Diego and attend practices. I'm about 5'11, 210 lbs..he makes me look like Im 5'5 150.

 Tell us what you really think of him! Wow..

It seems as if Jason Allen is getting mixed reviews. I just looked up his stats-

15 total tackles
1 pick
1 pass defended

I personally don't know so is he playing well? Is he being protected by Saban, in other words limiting his time?

No offense, but the numbers don't really look impressive but that can be very deceiving. Are they staying away from him? Limiting his snaps? Situational packages (dime, nickel)? Is Renaldo Hill that much better than him?

Someone please enlighten me.

McNeal is who I predicted we'd draft. Not only is he a beat, it might help that hes an old teammate of Ronnie Brown.

We can't get every single player out there who's doing well. You talk about him, Whitner, a QB, Manny Lawson.

Eventually we'll have a ROY candidate or a FA stud. Someday

He's being limited. They are giving him the "Troy Polamalu rookie approach". Just putting him in dime packages and special teams.

Ah..I see. Thanks Vertical. Similar to the number of snaps Cromartie is getting.
How's he been doing when he's in? Is he showing promise? Is he making plays when he's in? Is he hitting? Etc....? To be honest, I dont know much about him....
