McShay: Alternate Mock

Up on ESPN.com they just posted Todd McShay's latest mock draft, which is entirely based on Detroit passing on Matthew Stafford. They have us selecting Vontae Davis in the first, Brandon Tate at 2a, and Lawrence Sidbury at 2b.

I'm not a fan of Davis at all, and think that Tate and Sidbury would both be major reaches at those points in the draft. I would be very upset if things wound up that way.

I think Vontae Davis would be a great player under a strict organization like ours. but like everyone else said, too early for the other two.

high risk high reward draft. not exactly what i'd expect out of our FO, but to be honest, i wouldn't be totally upset if the draft went like that. Vontae Davis has a bit of an attitude, so i wouldn't want him. Tate was money before tearing up his knee, so if he comes back healthy he's definitely value in rd 2. Sidbury i like a lot.

McShay and Kiper have solid knowledge about the players in the draft, but they can't mock for ****, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Wow, I didn't even notice that...I would be furious if we passed on him. It would feel like Jamar Fletcher/Drew Brees all over again.
