McShay: Tannehill could become one of the top quarterbacks in the league

All these puffed up, posturing, hair sprayed sideline so-called "draft gurus" know **** about QB upsides compared to Sherman in general and when it pertains to Tannehill in particular. If he wanted him, that's all you really need to know... period!!!!

So **** the opinions of the likes of McShay and McKiper and company.. We got the real McCoy.

Just not the McCoys in the league....

If Skip Bayless doesn't like Tannehill, then I'm even more convinced it was an awesome pick.

I agree. Plus, he has the right coaching staff in place to develop his talent. That was another factor that has been missing for a long time.

Mike Mayock and Philbin thinks he will be a franchise QB. Good enough for me. Let's see what the kid can do on the field.

McShay predicted the first round better than anyone tonight, emphasizing that it would be marked by a huge number of trades. He estimated 10. Mock drafts are laughably worthless given the new realities of the rookie salary structure.

I'm trying to imagine what a thread here would have looked like if the Jets had traded up for Tannehill. Somehow I don't think we'd be celebrating the pick, or McShay's evaluation of him. Quite the opposite.

This could work out well. I'd be bothered with Weeden. Tannehill has enough strengths and upside to make a dent. He'll be jolted by the move from soft Big 12 pass defense to NFL but at least Texas A&M featured plenty of downfield conventional routes and not a high percentage of Big 12 bubble screen mush.

Let me say this...if tony sparono were here I would be terrified that this would not work, but we turned a 360 with Sherman and Phil.I'm sold.

Sherman got fired from two jobs. Nice ringing endorsement there.

Wow that McShay vs. Kiper clip is a complete classic! Especially towards the end.

The camera is no longer friendly to poor Kiper, resulting to childish jabs "You're not the only one that watches tape."

Tannehill got lucky. If he has any chance to succeed it will be with Sherman and Philbin. He also got lucky that Ireland was backed into corner and had no choice but to grab him.

"Big picture with him." Alright McShay, you got it. He'll flash some , he'll fail some, but he'll get better.

So, that means he'll "fail forward fast"?

I feel neutral about RT, but good that they actually took the plunge in FINALLY drafting a QB. Curious to see how things turn out...

For some fans, and analyst, it's more about them saying they were right than wanting a player or team to succeed. They want to look back and say I told you to take Matt Ryan over Jake Long, but don't mention that some of them wanted Vernon Gholston instead.

On the flip side did anybody see the segment on total access (after the draft) when they were about to discuss which one of the rookies from this day one draft would be in the top 100 next year. Dukes looked at Warner and said something like "you picking Tannehill?" To which they both replied "BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA"

Yeah, looks like we're the laughing stock again.
