His new mock hit today I believe and after a quick skim didn't see it posted anywhere else so...

14) - Breshad Perriman - Miami Dolphins (8-8)
COLLEGE: UCF
Class: Jr
HT: 6-2
WT: 212
POS: WR
Analysis: We haven't had Perriman going this early in our previous mocks, but we've seen two promising signs from him as we've gone through the evaluation process. 1.) His ball skills, which were something of a concern on his early-season tape, appeared to get better as the year wore on. His performance in UCF's bowl game against NC State was the best we've seen from him in terms of catching the ball. 2.) He verified the speed he flashes on tape with 4.24 and 4.27 40 times at his pro day last week. Miami could use him to replace Mike Wallace as its deep threat opposite fellow newcomers Kenny Stills and Jordan Cameron, giving QB Ryan Tannehill some talented weapons to work with.

Hard to argue with the logic for going WR but seems like a reach and I feel I would rather take the risk with DGB if we're really going to push the WR issue.

I wonder if McShay will put Shane Wynn in the 1st round of the draft in his next mock.

The Hoosiers have a number of underrated prospects to keep an eye on, starting with receiver Shane Wynn. Early word is the speedy Wynn ran as fast as expected, clocking times that ranged from 4.25 to 4.29. Wynn also touched 36-inches in the vertical jump and completed 13 reps on the bench.

Before you get too excited remember it is a YouTube highlight video and 3 words...five foot six. This kid is tiny.

2 weeks ago this guy was a 4th or 5th round pick lol. He runs a super fast at a pro day, where players always run fast and he becomes a top 15 pick. No thanks, has bust all over him, love the size and athlete not the player. A gamble in 4th would've been cool, but not at 14. We can't afford to miss on another explosive talent in top half of first round again.

I remember reading a post by CK about McShay; where he came from, his background, and how he got to be so prominent on ESPN TV. Basically he has marginal scounting ability but has a face made for TV so that's why he's there. I don't give any of his scouting info or his mock drafts one once of after thought. This mock pick should show you why you shouldn't either.

4th, 5th based on production but everybody already knew there was a freak athlete in him and before his pro-day was already considered a 2nd rd pick. He just turned out to be even better as an athlete than anticipated. Not defending the pick, I personally don't like him but just straightening the facts. Again, to go on record I don't like the pick either.

Please God no.

If this is even in our organizations thought process assuming the top WR are gone, just go with DGB or Strong instead. I beg you.

If the production doesn't match the athlete then it should be a major red flag. NFL Scouts (most) know the deal. Media heads like to push players up in the draft based on measurables...that always happens. A handful of GMs do the same but those GMs don't stay employed very long. If the late Al Davis was still alive I would have this kid going 4th to Oakland in a heartbeat...he would be a vintage Al Davis pick...like Darrius Heyward-Bey...but I think most GMs are more sensible nowadays. The game tape trumps all most of the time. The measurables are to confirm what they see on tape. If the kid is faster than he looks on tape you go back and try to figure out why, if he's significantly slower then you go back and look at the tape and figure out why and it may cost him a round or two (like in the case of Jarvis Landry). But as I've heard it said 80% of draft position is game tape.

I agree, I was just explaining that this guy's draft buzz had been going on before his pro-day. I don't like him either, he wasn't even UCFs top receiver. He actually was 3rd in their depth chart and everybody always knew he was fast, he looks fast on tape too... he just struggles mightily with everything else, routes, hands, etc.

I printed off a mock draft two months ago, and this guy was a 6th rounder then. I know he supposedly ran a great 40, but for him to vault up to #14 is amazing. Most mocks I have seen have Devante Parker going to us at #14. The one thing I like about Perriman is he tracks the ball really nicely in the air and seems to be able to fight to get the jump balls over most defenders. Maybe we draft Perriman and Perryman (from the U).

Perriman is a Rosenhaus client. Rosenhaus is among the top agents at hyping his clients especially through the media.

He use to own our front office, thank god Ireland is gone. Who remembers during free agency when we handed all our money to him, dude wasn't even in his own office, he was at Miami headquarters robbing us blind.

So he was basically doing his job. That's what he gets paid for.
