Yeremiah Bell is on Sports Xtra and reported he will sign his one year contract tommorrow. He finished by saying will see what happens after that, I really hope the kid can eventually get signed Long term

Glad to hear it. That kid is a playmaker. Why Saban couldn't see his talent and drafted Jason Allen (although I like Allen) is beyond me. I wish them both the best and hope for a great season for them and the team.

Incase you missed it, I was wondering why for only 1 year I was hoping to secure him for a few years. The read is all the way at the bottom after J Allen's article.

Probably because he needs to prove himself over a full year before they'll give him that contract.

''It's to see how good his hands are and his reaction time -- and that's my good sofa now,'' Cynthia Allen said. ``He better catch that egg every time because if it gets on my furniture, he don't want the ultimate football player on him. I'll tackle everybody.''

Ok Allen might not have won over fans yet but his mom has won me over ;p

I like the JA pick. But looking back it now, I wish he was drafted to play cornerback from the get go.

saban is an evaluator of young talent...in the NFL where only the best athletes and the ones that work the hardest with great character are the ones that should be picked up, but sabans philosophy during his stint here in miami was get the old guys that are over 35 and no body wants anymore. Yeh i know i didn't get his logic either.

I really like this news. I hope Bell can keep up his reputation of being a big playmaker this yr. He is one of the few in the secondary that do.

not really, i mean i dont like saban for what he did to us but i dont think he just tried to fill the team with veterans who couldnt play anymore. he more tried to develop young players under the more experienced ones.

This is what I've been talking about for a while now. The fact that the RFA's have only been tendered mean that Cleo Lemon is not yet "signed" to that one year tendered.

This is why I believe that MIA will wait until after the June training camp to sign Lemon. To see if Culpepper will impress.

If so, I see MIA completing the trade for Green. Dumping Lemon, not Culpepper. And having Culpepper and Green compete for the #1 and #2 QB. Beck is of course the red shirted rook.

Reports have confirmed that Green has agreed to a restructured deal with MIA. This means that if Green doesn't win the starting job, he doesn't make the up to $6mil that he would if he was the starter.

Green's contract would be that of Gus Frerotte's contract, when he was here. It would start out as a $2 to $3mil contract as the backup. But it could balloon to $6mil as the starter.

To me, this is the most sound move. Unless, MIA agrees with Cleo's "one" year deal and keep 4 QB's like Cameron did in SD.

Just don't see MIA just dumping a healthy and impressive Culpepper in training camp. Just don't believe it. Can't believe it.

Culpepper will count $6mil this year. If he starts, that's warranted. Green would probably only count $2-$3mil in that scenario. That's warranted.

Now if Culpepper doesn't impress (which I highly doubt), then you can obtain Green, keep Lemon, and dump Culpepper (again, highly doubt this scenario, which is the popular one for some illogical reason).

This is a little mysterious to me as well. I thought that Bell proved himself this past year. But it seems that MIA will wait until after this year to decide on him. Maybe they need two good years before the long term one.

Then again, it does seem smart. If they don't have to cough up the money until next year and only need to pay him $1.3mil without any big signing bonus, why do it? So pretty smart move actually.

well yeh but every player that he tried to "develop" had character issues. well maybe not every but most.
