Brian (Miami, FL): With the Dolphins filling most of their needs via free agency what direction do you see them going in the 1st round

Mel Kiper: (1:11 PM ET ) In terms of filling their need areas, filling the QB spot was a huge one. You also add LJ Shelton, a LT. Now safety becomes a possibility. They add three CBs in free agency. Now, that's not a need area. They could still look at OL, WR, S.

Discuss.

I dont understand why we should look at WR. We're pretty stacked vs teh rest of the league there and this is a VERY weak draft class at that position.

thats exactly what we've all been saying this whole time. any one of us could take Kiper's job....we just dont have the hair.

as much as alot of people are saying don't draft a wr...our offensive core would be set for awhile..i love chad jackson..nice and big..could help us alot.

I think he's pretty close, if we fail to find a good linebacker in FA I also think Linebacker is a area we have to address.

I don't think CB is out of the question if the right guy is there, OL is definitely still a possibility.

If we do add Arrington and another O-lineman in FA, WR is not out of the question.

It all depends on two things: who's still on the board and if we make a trade. But with that said, I see us going after Justice, Cromratie, or Huff/Watkins depending on the position we're aiming towards in the 1st round.

IMO - we are not stocked at WR....we have Chambers and Booker and then who? Welker, Kelly Campbell, Fred Gibson, Cliff Russell (is he even still with us?)??

I think that Welker is pretty good in the slot...but what if we had an injury to Booker or Chambers.....who of those backups would you want starting?

i really hope that we sign another o lineman in FA so we dont have to worry about drafting one of them.

and for me, there are 3 WRs in the first round that i would DROOL over, sinorice moss, chad jackson, and maurice stoval

but our need at saftey is of MAJOR concern. i would love to grab huff, but i dont see him falling to the 16 spot.

but for me, i hope we go S or WR with the 16

I'm wondering why you feel we are stacked at WR. We have Chambers who is a a pro bowler, Booker is a good #2 or #3, then we have Welker who is an overacheiver, Campbell, who is average, and then who? What if one of our top two guys go down, do you really feel comfortable with Welker or Campbell as the #2? We definitely aren't stacked against the rest of the league. Boldin and Fitzgerald...Hmmm, I think that's a much better duo. Harrison and Wayne, Holt and Bruce. Seriously, I think a third young receiver would be a very good pickup. If he is the BPA, then Holmes or Jackson would make me smile. I really don't think we are in a great position as to not go for a receiver. Thinking into the future do we want to be paying Booker 3 mil a year, I don't think so.

I agree with you....kind of

I'd be psyched with a WR @ 16...but only if it were S.Holmes...the others don't do that much for me at that spot.
