PS... Random NFL fact of the day...Marc Bulger went to the same high school as Dan Marino

I think Mel is going to be correct this year.

who thought miami would PASS on brady quinn IF he fell to us?

most thought he would be gone.

so dont blame mel.

show me the draft guru on ANY sports page, net board, tv show
who ALWAYS gets it right. where is that person?

i just love all these "this guy doesnt know squat, that guy is an
idiot, this guy doesnt know jack, etc..."

but EVERYONE, come draft time, goes RIGHT TO THEIR PAGE
around draft time. EXPECIALLY mels.

i take them ALL with a grain of salt, dont YOU? after all, NONE
of them KNOW, so why get hung up and rage?

and who wouldnt want to be a mel kiper anyways? i would love
that job and i wouldnt give a rats rear end what anyone said
about my pics, as i am sure mel doesnt either.

ands lets face it, who is closer to the information and those who
have it, mel kiper, or YOU?

covering the mel bashers from ALL the forums on the net]

My wife actually knows Mel Kiper. She says he's a helluva nice guy.
Not that that means anything. I'm just name-dropping.

Kiper just keeps changing his pick so that when we do draft, he can say, "See, I had him". There are no experts when it comes to the mock drafts. Unless you work in an organization, its just guessing. However, when it gets to the point where people like Kiper keep changing their pick every week, then its just a joke. Yes things change, so dont say something only to keep changing it. Best part is when he gets pissed when a team doesnt pick the guy he said they should take.

I completely agree Mr. Heston!

I'm praying he's right on this one. J. Long in the 1st. and Q. Groves in the 2nd. Yay!

I stopped caring about what Mel Kiper says for several years now. He's pretty much irrelevant in my book. He flip-flops more than a damn politician, and when a team doesn't take a guy that he has that team taking, he gets all pissy and goes on a "holier than thou" rant about how wrong that team was, and how right he is. I can guarantee you that Kiper has been more WRONG than right throughout his "illustrious" career.

If Mel was really that good he would be a GM. Right now he's throwing darts at a board and saying that's the guy we are gonna pick. Nobody knows what BP and Ireland are thinking. BTW NRA, I knew Miami was going to pass on Quinn. there was way too much info out there on who Miami loved Quinn. Quinn was over-rated and showed these touts...I mean "experts" really don't know what they are talking about.

Well lets look....
Last year he had these 10 as his top players...
1. Calvin Johnson*, WR, Georgia Tech (6-4, 225) | previous: Same
He’s not only a tremendous athlete, but he’s a hard worker and very team oriented. Based on the needs of the Raiders and Lions, Johnson might not be the No. 1 overall pick, but he won’t fall out of the top five.
2. Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin (6-6½, 313) | previous: Same
Huge, quick and athletic with a long wingspan.
3. Adrian Peterson*, RB, Oklahoma (6-1½, 218) | previous: Same
The most talented running back in the draft with an excellent burst to the outside for his size. The concern with Peterson is his durability.
4. JaMarcus Russell*, QB, LSU (6-6, 260) | previous: 5
Big, strong signal caller with a powerful arm, and his decision-making improved significantly in 2006.
5. Jamaal Anderson*, DE, Arkansas (6-5, 270) | previous: 6
A gifted athlete who is coming off an exceptional 2006 season. Anderson is a complete player, equally solid against the run and as a pass rusher.
6. LaRon Landry, DB, LSU (6-1½, 205) | previous: 11
Four-year starter who has proven to be Mr. Reliable throughout his career.
7. Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville (6-1½, 298) | previous: 9
A four-year veteran, and he is only 19 years old. Okoye is quick and explosive and goes all-out on every play. He is not only good at eating up space but also gets good penetration into the backfield.
8. Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson (6-4½, 260) | previous: 10
Flashes dominating ability with his athleticism and quickness. Adams led the Tigers with 10½ sacks and 15½ tackles for loss.
9. Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame (6-3½, 225) | previous: 4
Poised, smart and at his best in pressure situations. Quinn did throw two interceptions in the Sugar Bowl after throwing just one INT in his previous eight games.
10. Ted Ginn Jr.*, WR, Ohio State (5-11, 175) | previous: 8
Takes a backseat to no one in the speed department, brings a big-play dimension to the wide receiver position and also the return game.

Looks like he was pritty much dead on except for Brady Quinn...as far as top 10 players.
