Hey Bill if you are reading, let me ask you some questions:

Did you watch any of our games last year? Did you see the game in which Randy Moss beat Cameron Worrell like a drum? Did it ever dawn on you that maybe this team could use a few defensive backs in the offseason? Did you ever think we could use a guy like Antoine Cason? (who made a nice interception for the Chargers today).

NOOOOOO, you decide to stock up on offensive and defensive lineman and very little else. It's no longer the NFL that it was back when you coached the Giants/Pats/Jets, you need speedy receivers and d-backs. You also made few attempts to maybe bring in some D-Backs to upgrade us from Lehan, Crocker, Bell, etc., who would all have a hard time making it as a third stringer on any other team but Miami.

I hope you will address these needs next year. We made Kurt Warner look like Dan Marino today, and I blame you for most of it as you did nothing to bring in/draft any d-backs.

Sincerely - a Disappointed Dolphin Fan.

Amen!

parcells builds inside then out. Starts with the lines then builds the secondary and the wrs.

Come on, i KNOW im not the first to say this.

Maybe just maybe Parcells wasn't building this team for 2008. Maybe just maybe Parcells was building this team for the long run. To build a team that really has nothing to start from, you build from the lines out. Hence the focus on the offensive and defensive lines in the offseason. You can't rebuild the entire team in just one season, so yeah, some positions like in the secondary can't receive a huge upgrade. That is for year 2.

Antoine Cason at #1 overall, IMO, would have been a reach.

He was unavailable at #32.

So, whats your point?

Does anyone think for a second that this horrific team they inherited could be turned around in one offseason? Lets get real people.

The 3-4 will expose crappy LB's.
It is what it is.

The good news it per Mike Mayock the upcoming draft feature several LB's both OLB and ILB.

Gonna be a really long season.

While I agree we needed / need to upgrade our DB I have a couple thoughts... questions....

Were we suppose to take Cason with the 1st over all pick? Are you aware he was not on the board when we picked in the 2nd round?

It has been stated over and over and over again that BP and Co. are building this team from the inside out. In order to do that you have to bring in lineman.

It is impossible to address all the needs we had in one off season. To be frank, I don't think we will be able to address all our needs in two offseason. IMO, we need two receivers a couple more lineman and a TE on offense.

On defense we need two OSLB's, FS, SS and a CB. By my count that is about 9 starters.

Exactly. Nobody thinks long term anymore. Patience.

There is only so many draft picks you get in one year. And no I don't want any of those has beens that were/are available as FA's. There is a reason 32 teams pass on those.

For the 1,000,000th time. This is NOT freakin' Madden. You can't just draft/trade/aquire any player you want whenever you want. If we would have chosen DBs and WRs in the draft you would have a million guys on here screaming that the Trifecta are idiots for not building the lines. There seem to be a lot of people who cannot separate fantasy from reality or believe that time travel is possible and that second-guessing is a constructive and useful pastime. Things are what they are. I don't like it. You don't like it. Nobody likes it. But this constant finger pointing and blaming is getting old. :loco:

can't make a team go from 1-15 to Super Bowl champ overnight. rebuilding takes time. if we drafted a CB, guess what? that would just be another position we'd have to look at in a later draft that we addressed in this year's draft.
