Mental Strategy that produces WINS

I don't know if you guys have noticed or feel the same way, but last year our dolphins seemed to play every down like they were pissed off at the world. They went out on every play looking to smack someone in the mouth and even if they made mistakes, didn't execute properly, they still made their presence felt somewhere on the field. WE NEED TO CONSISTENTLY PLAY WITH ENERGY & INTENSITY. 60 minutes of hard hits and up tempo play will wear out the opponent and take away their confidence/momentum. I have seen it several times this year (Most of the game in the Jets Monday nighter, especially during that final drive, and for the first half of the saints game), but it has been no where as consistent as last year. Every game last year, the energy was almost tangible, you could sense the intensity from our guys through the television set and if you went to any games it was sensational. Sparano's main objective should be to fire up our guys & get this team mad!! Energy Energy Energy and more Energy. Never slow up, keep the pace of the game in our hands. Play physical on every down. I do think we have been very physical this season (maybe the most physical team in the league) but again consistency is always an issue. It seems to me like many times this year its as if we are over-thinking the situation and making certain situations more difficult than they truly are. Last year it seemed as we just were out their to kick some *** and weren't worried about what play was called, what the score was or what down it was. Go out and play some hard-nosed football. Keep the intesisty up for the whole game, no matter how tired you are, you're getting payed millions of dollars to play a game, so leave it all on the line. This of course risks injury but we can't hold back in fear of that, we need wins! This team seems to be extremely influenced by score, momentum, etc. Get that **** out of your heads and play as if your life or family's lives are on the line. This won't fix all our problems but will definitely help our cause in a huge way!!

I made the comment several times before the season started that there's a difference between playing out of DESPERATION and playing out of DETERMINATION...

Desperation is a 1-15 football team playing with something to prove against a last place schedule....

Determination is playing like you're hellbent on repeating as division champs when you can't sneak up on anybody....

When you have washed up loudmouths like Porter out there bragging about how they're the division champs and the division title goes through them....yada yada yada......and backing it up with goose eggs all across the board....

...the "energy" probably isn't focused on where it's most beneficial...

We arent even close to being a tough team. Why do you think we get killed in the 4th quarter every week.. Because we cant play 60 minutes of football. We play 45 minutes of football and then lie down for a nap.. thats not the making of even a remotely tough team.

Leadership has changed (Henne for Pennington). Pennignton showed a lot of emotions on the field. Henne has a different style of leadership than Pennington. Give it time. They'll be fine.
