In their post-game show Dan was asked by Boomer who should start, and he responded that based on the fact that he releases the ball faster than Daunte, "You have to think Harrington."

Dan Marino comments on Joey Harrington

In the NFL Today discussion following Dolphins loss to New England, they turned to Dan Marino for analysis. He said "Joey Harrington looked fairly sharp out there today" while they rolled tape of the game featuring lowlights of all turnovers including the fumbles on both sides.

"The whole thing with the Miami Dolphins" Dan said, was avoiding sacks, "You gotta get the ball out of there". He then said "The ONE positive thing they take out of this game is only 1 sack". Following these comments JB asked ...

Who starts next week for the Jets? "Joey Harrington, absolutely" said Boomer quickly with a big smile. Dan chimed in and agreed, no question, Joey starts next week on the road at New York.

Doesn't really matter at this point. Personally I'd rather have less turnovers than less sacks.

As it should be. Harrington played well today. A QB can't overcome all the mistakes this team made today. Penalties n crap. We've disgraced ourselves yet again. Joey played well enough to win in my opinion.

you can believe commentators on tv,

but the truth is daunte is the qb for the dolphins, nick has said this time and time again

i am sorry but boomer and dan are not the coaches for the dolphins

Are you trying to say the 2 ints. that he threw that led to 14pts wasn't his fault?

You're just going to keep clinging to that, aren't you? :sidelol:

Well, who knows? With this much crappy coaching, you could be right!

This game confirmed my thoughts that Pep is the cause of 4 out of every 5 sacks. Its clear that he stands in the pocket way too long while Joey gets the ball out. Joey gives us the best chance to win. You dont win by getting sacked repeatedly

This is the same thing about people blaming the O-Line for Culpepper getting sacked, is the same people complaining about the O-Line the reason for Brown not getting though the holes.

What's your rebuttal as to why we shouldnt start Cpepp? You think Harrington gives us a better shot to win? How? by throwing 2 int and 0 TD?

You show me a QB that is head and shoulders better than Cpepp and I'll agree with you.

You also don't win games by giving the other guys 14pts on turnovers.

As Dierdorf said on the broadcase - The Team seemed to rally around Harrington. He has around 200 yards at halftime after showing some real guts and poise overcoming his pick. Unfortunately the 3rd Quarter appeared to become a defensive game for both teams... no scoring. Brady had his troubles too.

There were some key problems for Miami, aside from Joey's 2 picks. Brown fumbled on the first drive and had TWO key drops of well thrown balls to stall drives. The bad call on Chambers sideline tiptoe catch was horrible I thought as that was a key play. After the Pats fumble we had great field position but New England's D really came on. Protection broke down but at least JH didn't sit in the pocket holding the ball... as Marino pointed out he was buying time and avoiding sacks, you must give props to the Pats D because Joey could not find anyone open, he was forced to throw it away on several occasions.

2nd pick wasn't totally his fault, was a lucky pick.
Culpepper has been sucking since week 1, he isn't ready to play, might not be ready to play this year, at this rate.

Running game has done nothing to help the passing game, so far.
