but this was JUST reported by in the pal beach post........
It’s impossible to know if the Dolphins ever offered their defensive coordinator job to Al Groh, but it’s a moot point now. According to ESPN and the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Groh has decided to stay at the college level and accept the same position with Georgia Tech.
That brings the Dolphins’ focus squarely on Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker coach Keith Butler, who according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter is to interview for the position today.
Groh, 65, had made it clear that his preference wasn’t either a college or pro job but one that fit his ‘criteria.’ Chief among those was the integrity of the situation, and his familiarity with Bill Parcells made it understood that existed in spades in Miami.
But Groh also knew the demands Parcells — and by extension, his lieutenants, coach Tony Sparano and GM Jeff Ireland — put on their coaches. It’s possible he decided he didn’t want to jump back into that NFL meat-grinder after spending the last 10 years at the college level.
Regardless, Butler, who at 52 is 13 years Groh’s junior, now becomes the frontrunner. If all goes well, an announcement could be only hours away.

THIS makes more sense. why would butler agree to an interview before
interviewing and hearing out the dolphins offer?
the pitt things sounds more like a wishfull rumour to me. notice there was
no reason why and ended with a stay tuned tomarrow blurb.
if someone had that inside scoop, they would have found out the reason
why also. they didnt. i mean really, you go to your source, he/she says,
"butler turned down the finz"!!!
isnt your next question, as a reporter, WHY?
when i see that CONFIRMED by either ESPN or NFL NETWORK, its
all just rumour to me.
but, this is the current miami dolphins we are talking about. par for course,
we have a chance a real deal, perfect situtation coaching candidate
and he turns it down before even interviewing.
thats todays finz.
