We will have a hella BRUTAL schedule in 2009.
And please spare me the "you never know how good teams will be next year" speech. Yes, I know that.
Also, spare me the "let's focus on this year for now" speech. If you want to talk about this year, go read/post in the other 500 threads about this year.

But still, take a peek at this:

In 2009, the Dolphins will play:
AFC South
and
NFC South

So, our 2009 schedule will be as follows:

6 division games: NYJ, BUF, NE (Tom Brady back)

Carolina Panthers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Atlanta Falcons
New Orleans Saints

Indianapolis Colts
Tennessee Titans
Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston Texans

2 more games depending on our finish in the AFC East this year -
(1st, 2nd or 3rd):
1 game vs. AFC West (either Denver/San Diego/Oakland) (not KC)
1 game vs. AFC North (either Pittsburgh/Baltimore/Cleveland) (not Cin)

I don't think playing the south teams is that difficult. We were fortunate to have the West teams at home. Pats and Jets had to go to the west. Playing the south next year is better than playing the East and North teams imo.

Next season will really show us how good of a team we really are...It will be a nice test to go up against some of the top teams...If you want to be the best you have to beat the best

Well think of it this way, all those NFC and AFC South teams aren't that far away from Miami. So if it's an away trip it shouldn't be that bad.

I'm curious why you think that we can not play KC or Cincy? Both could finish as high as 3rd in their division....also, we could still finish last in ours. unlikely, but it's not yet decided.

Also, why the ------ in front of all your threads? Co-worker does something similar with underscores and it drives me nuts??

Heres the thing: Our schedule was supposed to be brutal this year.

Before the season started, San Deigo and Denver were Superbowl contenders. KC was supposed to be much improved. Seattle was a 10-6 in '07 and a division champ. Hell, even the Texans were 8-8 and thought to be a playoff team.

So we can bemoan the schedule and whine about the hand fate has dealt us, or we can go out and smash these teams in the mouth as a true contender in 2009.

Let's take a look at who got better this year and who got worse (In terms of the schedule for 2009).

In 2007: New England 16-0, Buffalo 7-9, NY Jets 4-12, Miami 1-15
In 2007: Carolina 7-9, Tampa Bay 9-7, Atlanta 4-12, New Orleans 7-9
In 2007: Indianapolis 13-3, Tennessee 10-6, Jacksonville 11-5, Houston 8-8.
In 2007: Denver 7-9, San Diego 11-5, Oakland 4-12, Pittsburgh 10-6, Baltimore 5-11, Cleveland 10-6

Teams who got better: NY Jets, Miami, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, New Orleans, Tennessee, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore

Teams who got worse or are near the same: Buffalo, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Houston, San Diego, Oakland and Cleveland

What the hell am I talking about here? Contrary to the OP's statement about he doesn't want to hear anything about teams getting better or worse, from year to year, free agency to free agency, draft to draft and injuries to injuries, looking ahead is illogical (unless your goal is to simply guess who will be good or bad).

The schedule, based on 2008, looks difficult. Will it be? We won't know until 2009

Yeah...what's up with that? It's like posters asking people to "Thank" them for a funny picture...not the original intent for the "Thanks" button.

It's a great schedule. Hopefully I will get to go to at least 4 games next year Atl, J-ville, Charlotte and Nashville.

another year playing texans, can we finally get a freakin win against them!! 4 years in a row now?

brutal schedule though, real tough teams

we've played 4 games in West as well, all AFC east teams do, its only fair. (KC,DEN,STL,ARZ) But the Jets will go 0-4 and we'll go 3-1..

next years schedule is tough, but we dont travel very far.
NFC South will be very tough next year, and AFC SOUTH should be even better, the texans are due for a winning season and have an explosive offense and no way the Jags come out that bad again... the titans will stink again with vince young at the helm, and colts are the colts...
